🔬 Why are there no compound microscopes with an optical zoom?

You always have to change the objective (and/or eyepiece) to obtain a different magnification in a microscope? Why don’t they (generally) make microscopes with a zoom feature?

  1. Compound Microscope with optical zoom. There is one! The Zeiss Axiomat. I have two of them. They both zoom.
