 By definition, schist contains more than 50% platy and elongated minerals, often finely interleaved with garnets and mica.

These images are a series of snapshots along the thin section of Garnet-Mica Schist.
The microscope is an AJay Optiks petrology scope with crossed polars, a 2x objective and a Future Optics 5MP camera . The images were stitched together using Microsoft ICE.
Post processing was in Adobe Lightyroom.
