Is amateur microscopy something for me?

It would be easy for me to say: “Buy a microscope and find out”. Rather I would recommend a different strategy. Read books, blogs and microscopy related publications and also watch the many youtube videos and photographs that amateur microscopists around the world have posted. You can also see that many amateurs like to tinker around with the microscope, improving their performance, restoring old devices or even researching the history of some microscope models. You can then see that the activities of an amateur can be quite diverse and individual.
