Polarizing filters for a Leitz Dialux 20EB
Hi all, Due to the whole Corona crisis here in Europe I'm mostly working from home these days. That means that the Olympus-beast on my desk at work is collecting dust and my own little Leitz Dialux 20EB is reliving its youth. I'm reading histology slides (I'm a veterinary pathologist) and I am somet...

Re: Microscope Camera MediaCybernetics Evolution MP
I guess you're right PeteM.
It's so unfortunate the connectivity of these old microscope cameras is what's keeping them in the past, not the camera itself.
I'm also looking into the possibility of getting it to work with MICAM, but that's not giving any result either.

Re: Microscope Camera MediaCybernetics Evolution MP
Thank you for your replies! Yes, its connection is Firewire, no USB. I might indeed try to get hold of a Firewire-USB adapter and see if that works.
Unfortunately, there is no Image Pro subscription here at work as this camera was operated with Olysia Bioport software.

Microscope Camera MediaCybernetics Evolution MP
Dear members, At work we have this old MediaCybernetics Evolution MP microscope camera dusting away on one of our microscopes. It's currently hooked up to a crappy pc (with Windows XP) which is not workable anymore. Most of the other pcs we have around here are Windows 10 and I'm wondering if there'...

Re: Connecting Canon DSLR to Leitz trinocular head with all-Leitz components
I'm checking the possibilities of connecting my Canon 1100D with my Leitz Dialux. I'm aware of 3 options: - Phototube + eyepiece, as mrsonchus showed. - Using an adapter, like the Amscope Adapter or LM scope - No optics, like Einman Am I missing any options? My main question is, what about the field...

Re: 4x or 5x for a Leitz Dialux 20 EB
Thanks for all your replies and the comprehensive explanations! One last question: I saw that the Leitz 4x EF has an numerical aperture of 0.12. The Leitz 4x Plan has a numerical aperture of 0.10. That surprises me as you would assume that the more expensive and higher quality Plan lens would have a...

Re: 4x or 5x for a Leitz Dialux 20 EB
OK, thanks for looking. I'll check if my wallet can support a Plan-objective . If not, I'll settle for an EF one.
Thanks for offering a universal condensor, but this one suits me fine. I'm only doing bright field microscopy and I don't mind flipping the top lens every now and then.

Re: 4x or 5x for a Leitz Dialux 20 EB
Hi Charles and einman, Thank you for your quick replies! The 4x Plan that Charles suggested would be a good option, but then I'm paying for a very wide-view lens of which I'll only be using a small part of its capacity. At the moment I'm not taking photos, but I might in the future. So a Fluotar mig...

4x or 5x for a Leitz Dialux 20 EB
Hi everyone! This is my first post. I've been nosing about on the forum for a little while now. Since one month I own a Leitz Dialux 20 EB (see photos). It's 41 years old, but works like a charm. I only read histopathology slides on it. It came with the following Leitz objectives: - 2.5x PL - 10x NP...
