Re: Attaching Lumix G7 to a 23mm camera port on an AmScope T490B-DKO

Simplest/Cheapest answer [although there are others]: The 'scope comes equipped with a C-mount Search ebay for "c mount to micro 4 3" and take your pick MichaelG. Attaching Lumix G7 to a 23mm camera port on an AmScope T490B-DKO

Hello, ended up getting this microscope just to get some gram stains done that were time sensitive. I know a lot of the digital cameras they try to up-sell you on are laggy or low MP. I have a nice Lumix G7 I'm trying to attach to the top of the camera mount to capture photos but I have zero idea wh...

Re: Suggestions with $1,000 budget for bacterial identification

I ended up getting the AmScope T490B-DKO and it feels like a piece of crap. $430 doesn't get you much these days. The Halogen bulb even at max power is still incredibly dim, and gives a horrendous yellow light which skews colors. Probably returning it and looking for an American or German made scop...

Re: Suggestions with $1,000 budget for bacterial identification

Thanks for the reply. It did come with green/yellow/blue filters and that oil condenser. It is plastic feeling. I tried putting the dark-field oil condenser on there but almost 0 light gets through. I suppose that's the point but I can't see anything at all. Maybe I'm physically using it incorrectly...

Re: Suggestions with $1,000 budget for bacterial identification

Gram staining is a very quick way to get an educated guess at what we're working with. We do 16s DNA barcoding but that is a few day turnaround at best. Not a hobbyist, just always had microscopes around colleges/incubators to use and now we're out on our own. I'm familiar with using them but when y...

Suggestions with $1,000 budget for bacterial identification

99% of the work will be on bacterial identification via gram staining and a few fungi thrown in. I do have a Nikon 0.3A condenser but I suppose that's useless now. Would very much like to be able to hook it up to a screen/monitor as will be observing numerous samples all day long and it can start to...

Complete Reichert Zetopan Microscope

This is a microscope I got from my old alma matter. It has a lot of objectives, filters, light source (not original it's an Olympus light source) and light comes through the 10x Nikon eye pieces.

Reichert Zetopan?

I collect old lab equipment, mainly organic glassware. My old school gave me this scope as they were getting brand new stuff. I did a little searching online and I think it's a Reichert Zetopan. It has an olympus light box that when plugged in, lights up the back and you can see through the optical ...
