Great video and observation. Thanks for sharing.
How long does this process of budding and reproduction takes till the new creature breaks free?

Congrat's Tim.
Fortunately, I have another sleeve of the same length from a salvage Zeiss part that I can use to replace it.
Press my thumb and good luck!

Re: WTB: Zeiss Universal, Photomicroscope II or III stand

Hi,
also note that the Zeiss Stand WL focus block is the same as used on Phomi and Universal.
I used a Phomi focus block to fit it on one of my Zeiss Standard WL.
It's held on with like 6 bolts, there are no alignment issues.
I can confirm this statement.

Re: Need help with a stuck part on a Zeiss PM3 tube head

Hi Scarodactyl, This is heresy, but I have once replaced it with a normal set screw like it should have had in the first place. Wonder why you replaced the wonderfull, over engineered, spring loaded fixation mechanism? :D After re-lubricating it will do again a nice job for the next coming 20 years....

Re: Need help with a stuck part on a Zeiss PM3 tube head

Hi Tim,
I have used the Zeiss GF 30 gear grease. But a soft to medium viscous gear gease should generally do the job I guess.
In the German Forum there is also a member who sells a comparable grease for quite low costs...but maybe would not work due to shipping costs to USA in your case.

Re: Need help with a stuck part on a Zeiss PM3 tube head

Hello Tlansing, thrust me, from my own experience do not try to remove the threaded brass sleeve...it is not required and has NO benefit. Just remove the small retaining ring from the "shaft / pin", should work with a tweezer. Then you can remove all the interns (spring, shaft-pin) as shown on the p...

Re: Need help with a stuck part on a Zeiss PM3 tube head

These pins need to be completely dismantled. Use petrolether or xylene to remove the old, hardened grease. Relubricate and re-assembly. Here you find the details of the pin mechanism. The principle is all the same on the Zeiss standards (PM): https://www.mikroskopie-forum.de/index.php?topic=4004.msg...

“Aliens” found in dog feces (unidentified oocysts from coccidia?)

Below photos of some of the “alien eggs” that I found in dog feces 😊 Sample was collected from a passive floatation of fresh dog feces with a Sodium Nitrite solution. Any help to identify the Aliens is very welcomed! https://up.picr.de/45801747gg.jpg https://up.picr.de/45801749om.jpg https://up.picr...

Rat tapeworm egg in dog feces

I frequently inspect the feces of my small dog for parasites. Below is a photo of a tape worm egg that I have recently spotted in a fecal flotation sample. https://up.picr.de/45766118lt.jpg Tapeworm eggs are shed only intermittently in the feces, so coprological flotation has only low sensitivity fo...

Thank you 75RR. Actually you may have inspired me to put the flash bulb inside an old Zeiss lamp housing. In an earlier thread you considered the lamp housing 60, but you dropped the ideas since it has not really convenient space or provision to install. So finally I think the Lamp Housing 100 is a ...

Hi Pete, (so far) no issues discovered with the cables and connectors, works all well. At the cylindrical Zeiss Lamp house the red cable is the flush ignition calbe, what get the high voltage. I know these are relatively common organisms so I don't want to over-share, but I will put together videos every once in a while of the common organisms if I get some nice shots.
Very nice video. You never can over-share, especially if the video quality is so amazing.
