They are probably one of the toughest organisms on earth.. They can live in situations and conditions that would kill humans...

Re: There Are Thousands of Tardigrades on the Moon. Now What?..

Yes, the water supply would be crucial for their survival.. It seems... They may be tougher than we know and are able to adapt to an environment with much less H2O than previously thought.....

Re: Why is Earth so biologically diverse? Mountains hold the answer

Yes, the rain forest contains such a variety of biodiversity, except the local governments prefer the money the trees bring in as lumber.. It will soon all be converted to tree stumps.... I am sure the mountains will be found to contain materials that have to be extracted...

Thanks for the praise from all!.. I will try to post things that I think the members here would enjoy.. I am not a Biological specialist.. My chosen field was Mechanical Engineering, but I take interest in fine instruments, hence my attraction to microscopes and optics..

If a re-seller on Ebay states" I know nothing about microscopes", beware.. There is usually something wrong with it and/or parts missing..

Re: Home made (Very Basic) Microtome

Hello,

This is a good idea.. Where did you come up with your divisions?.. Did you take the pitch of the screw into account?.. The bolt you are using looks fairly coarse.. a finer pitch nut/bolt combination would allow for thinner sections...

"zzffnn, I think that the PWM dimmer has no pot positions, it just changes the duty cycle, not the voltage or current supplied to the LED."

Yes.. That is what PWM stands for.. Pulse Width Modulation.. It changes the amount of duration of the on-off cycle...
