Paramecium - Educational model
Hi guys,
I didn't know where to post this so please move it to the right category if needed.
I created this 3D printable model of a Paramecium, if there are teachers around that want to use it, please do.

I designed this to sort my own mess, but I decided to publish it in case some of you can use it.
It's designed to be stuck with double sided PU tape under the counter.
Enjoy.

Wouldn’t that be great?
I think the feature is somewhere on developing team’s list so maybe will be implemented someday.

Re: Please help a microscope noob with objectives
I built this scope and it’s beautiful. The image is as good as the objective is, the flattest the better. This is an extraordinary project if you think you get a completely robotized microscope with slide scanning capability that can be operated remotely from any corner of the world. Resolution with...

Re: Leitz Laborlux S Polarized light system - 3D printed
Thanks Patta, diameter of the round one is 48 mm and the side of the square one is about 21-22 mm. As for the markings, they can easily be done but I considered they are not needed as this is used just for amateur ‘artsy’ work, not for cristalography or whatever else where measuring is needed. :) I k...

Hi, I just edited a bit and added some nice music to go with my first attempt of using Polarized light with the system I designed and 3D printed yesterday. Some of the protozoans and other pond life look stunnig in polarized light, like these Paramecium you can see in the footage. (Paramecium caudat...

Leitz Laborlux S Polarized light system - 3D printed
Hi, I just finished the design and trials of a diy polarized system for Leitz Laborlux S. It's supposed to be used with the linear polarization filter foil that you can buy online from a lot of places, these are the holders to fit the cut to size foil in. Files are here, if I decide to design a reta...

Re: Tips on Buying a Microscope and suggestions for What to look at
In my opinion no one should ever buy toy microscopes, telescopes etc. and not even cheap entry level ones. These kind of instruments with plastic optics or wobbly mounts and poorly put together will only bring frustration instead the pleasure of knowledge and will soon be abandoned, thrown away and ...

Thanks a lot guys, I always thought that there must be a chemical way of communication between the bacteria similar with pheromone system in animals.
No idea if I'm right, don't really have time to look for studies abut this but I bet there are people that can answer the question.

Hi, it's called darkfield illumination and is very easy to get for objectives up to 10x.
What you need is a black stop centered under the condener.
