Re: Reflections of my eyes at higher magnification
Thanks. At least I know I'm not the only one. Perhaps using a camera and a computer would be the answer.

Reflections of my eyes at higher magnification
I had cataract surgery a few years ago and now, I notice that when I use a microscope, I can see an image of the surface of my eyes superimposed on the image being studied. It appears that the imperfections on my corneas are somehow being reflected back from somewhere in the optical path of the scop...

Re: Dynazoom eyepieces
I've restored a couple of Dynoptic / Dynazoom microscopes and I agree with most of the advice in this thread except for applying light machine or gun oil to the dried out grease. I have read that you need to be very careful about lubricants used inside a microscope body. The reason is that many lubr...

Question about AO 110 body
I recently got a good deal on an AO 110 set up for phase contrast. The microscope body is damaged, but the condenser, viewing unit and objectives are good and it was too good of a deal to pass up. It's a trinocular body and I could replace it or use a spare Series 10 body which I have. The 110 body ...

Re: Help dating this one
That microscope appears to be a Bausch & Lomb Dynazoom model with flat field objectives. It can't possibly date back to 1943 - my guess would be the 1960's. I have one of the similar Dynoptic flat field models (the Dynoptic models lack the knob on top of the head that allows the user to double the m...

AO 1031 Illuminator Potentiometer question
I recently acquired a Series 10 with the 1031 Illuminator basically for parts. The illuminator lights up when I turn it on, but it immediately goes to full brightness and stays on full as you turn the knob. I'm guessing that the potentiometer is bad. Can anyone confirm this and / or give me advice i...

Hello everybody
I just joined the forum and I'm happy to be here. It looks very interesting and I'm sure I will learn a lot because I don't have the level of expertise that some of the members here exhibit. I'll contribute what I can. I got interested in microscopes when I was about 10 and my parents bought me an A...
