Re: Lab glassware

Hobbyst, that is a very pertinent question. There is nothing on the items except graduations. My real glassware is still packed, this stuff was just for mixing room temp pest poisons, with an eye to the use in the lab, but I would think it very unwise to mix them up, unless they pass a heating test....

Re: Lab glassware

Must be the OP, I'll check that out. Oliver is making me suffer. The lab had to have some minor changes, epoxy floor instead of lvt planks. What I didn't foresee was the floor slopping so much that the office chair is like a roller coaster. Might need speed bumps! At Michaels I bought 3 sizes of gra...

R R R R ! It's also my sinaversary. To the left of the topic title is a box with a circle surrounding a little book, it, I think, is a status indicator of the read status of the post. My book has a wee black square (badge) on the top left corner of the book. I find about 1 of these every 27 posts. C...

I'm getting it, slowly. I see everyone has a little red exclamation mark to report posts. But why was I reported, and why is there that little black square badge on the very far left?

Lab glassware

Michaels, the craft store, has dozens of mad scientist items. Graduated cylinders, glass syringes, beakers, flasks, etc, and they are glass! Halloween decorations. Ok, this is the same post I put up a few days ago, and was immediately reported and greyed out, plus an ugly black dot. With no way to g...

Re: Olivine from Hawaii

oooooooops, I just made a wild guess, my bad. Try 4 miles at 285 deg. Actually, I was right by the river, half way between the surf and the trees. Can’t do much better on this Ipad. I would not go back to that resteraunt, I got mild food poisoning from bad fish. Probably cause removing sand from Haw...

No wiki, oops that’s Hawaiian, I mean no hurry. I did not collect much, only a few cups, as it is a
semi-private and sacred beach. There should be alot of olivine in it.

You, sir, are no.1, and never to be forgotten. Every time I go in my closet I stumble over 3 huge scopes, and I mutter something about that Lorez!!! There is a secret cave on the South of Kauai, where I will be in 2019. I hope to wrangle permission to get a small sample of their rare green sand. Alo...

Sorry to hear that, Rodney, I lucked out. Got the filter material, and a cool mount, and all
assembled in time for great pictures. Early morning fog burned off for a sunny Sequim
day.

I was so lucky to get one of those from a forum member, it spoiled me. There are some awe-
some experts here who can give you priceless help. If you post links to your wanted scopes
they can spot very important flaws. Our classified department is great.

Good job, thanks Rod. My lawn sprinkler installer just told me all I needed was a welders visor,
me thinks he has sniffed too much pvc glue!
Well, UPS just delivered the scope, a week early. Bring on the moon.

Re: Telescope/spotting scope advice or offers wanted

Those are glasses, and would not arrive til after the event. Daystar makes a 50mm
for $22, best price I've found. If this Canadian smoke gets any worse I won't need
a filter. (just kidding)

Re: Telescope/spotting scope advice or offers wanted

Rodger, Charlie, and that is a good site. There are a few stores that carry the uber-expensive
spotter scopes, so I can see what 60x does
It was very interesting reading the features list for some of the tely's, strangely
resembled the hyped up lists aimed at the numbers only shoppers.

Kurt, your 'better yet' idea looks promising. The one you suggested has very little eye relief, but I will look more. None of the telescopes I looked at had good reviews from experienced users. 99% of my use will be viewing the scenery from the living room. The improvement from my old 8x40 brand X b...

Telescope/spotting scope advice or offers wanted

I know alot of you are experienced astronomical types, so I'll bet you can help. My 8x binoc's leave a lot to be desired in my new environment. Ok for birding, but I'm looking for something for a range of 1 to 50 miles. Nights here are so clear so often, and no street lights, so I might begin starga...

more than the scopes! Do you have any telescopic items?

Re: people who are affraid of germs

If we all maintained a .01% level of Glenlivet (18year) we would not be concerned about this. I strongly believe this because a member recommended it. Last year I spent a month on a Princess Cruise, the ship had 4 touchless handwashing stations and 2 hand sanitizer stands at every entrance to every ...
