Hi Dave, and welcome.

For many years a serious amateur astronomer/imager, until I moved from a lovely dark sky village, into light pollution :(

A fraction of the weight, much smaller, and an 18mp APS-C sensor. It came with a very budget 18-55 lens which I discarded...

My name is Bob or actually Robert
Always nice to be able address some one by their name, instead of some strange 'pseudonym', much more friendly. :)

Enjoy the forum, and your new microscope.

Hi Jan, and welcome.

I was a keen amateur astronomer/astro-imager, until a move from a dark sky location, to one with light pollution, put an end to it.

Hi Richie, and welcome :)

Btw, some non mechanical stages have pre-drilled and tapped holes ready to take a commonly available adjuster, to both hold the slide in position, and move it both laterally, back and forth. From what I remember, they are not expensive.

Re: Patch Stops

Hopefully you can share some images and techniques if you get some good results with the oblique patches. I only had intermittent and fleeting luck with my Chinese scope with the oblique patches. But maybe the Optiphot will perform better since it already gives better dark field. Well, I can but tr...

Re: Patch Stops

Cool looking set. They probably are made from PLA since they look like they are 3D printed. 3D printings can have "stringing" which are little threads of plastic as the head switches from one part to the other. A file or sand paper can remove that. Also the crisscross pattern is the 3D head printin...
