Question about the compatibility of condensers

I recently bought a Euromex cardioid immersion-oil darkfield condenser for my iScope. Now i'm curious, will I be able to use this condenser on any of my future microscopes not from the same brand?

Thanks in advance.

Filamentous algae

Can anyone identify this algae? I'm thinking of either Klebsormidium sp. or Mougeotia sp.

Re: The right adapter

I'll be buying a 40 mm pancake lens for my canon soon, I'll also be keeping an eye out for a good tripod/stand. Thanks for the information everyone.

Re: The right adapter

I'll be trying it with a pancake lens first. Do you use a normal tripod to hold the camera in place above the eyepiece? EDIT: Been looking around the forum and found that a manual pancake lens works better than an electronic one, is the difference significant? I was planning on buying the CANON EF 4...

Re: The right adapter

I'm really interested in that Varimag II adapter you showed me Scarodactyl. But I don't have any experience with ebay whatsoever, should this seller be trusted? If I could get it for half the retail price, it would be a steal. I'm leaning more to buying an actual adapter than the pancake lens at the...

Re: The right adapter

Thanks Scarodactyl, I might give that a try. Does the method with the pancake lens work for all kinds of eyepieces, or do you need a specific one?

I also bought a T2 ring from another seller at halve the price of the Euromex one + free shipping!

The right adapter

Hi all I recently bought a CANON EOS 4000D with the sole purpose of using it for photomicrography. I've been searching all around the forum and came to the conclusion that this camera would be the best suited for a beginner. The only thing still left for me to do right now is to find the right adapt...

Euromex CMEX-5 Pro question

Hey there! Around half a year ago I bought the Euromex iScope, probably one of my favorite purchases to date. The only thing I'm missing is a proper way to get some footage from the specimens I view under the microscope. I've never been into photography before, so after searching around a bit I foun...

Spring-like algae

Hello there!

Does someone know what these are? I find them regularly in my backyard pond.

Re: Objectives

I think i'm going to go for the 20x, I'll always be able to upgrade with a 60x objective in the near future (if I can find one with oil immersion that is!). All the extra information sure helped a lot, thank you all!

Objectives

Hi all! I'm here again for the third time in a row! (I'm sorry for this, I've got a lot of questions and just want to be sure about my purchase) The scope i'm planning to buy comes with a 4x, 10x, S40x and S100x oil immersion objectives. In addition I want to buy an extra objective to put in the qui...

Phase contrast vs. Brightfield

I'm debating whether to buy a Brightfield or Phase contrast microscope. I love observing Diatoms and different types of small protozoans. Would it be better to invest in a good brightfield microscope or in a slightly "worse" microscope with a phase contrast condenser?

Phase contrast objectives

Can phase contrast objectives be used for normal brightfield without a real downgrade in resolution? I was planning to buy a microscope only including the zernike phase contrast condenser, but I'd like to also have the option to view specimen in brightfield.
