Thanks Pete, something like that microscope is next to impossible to find here in Iran, but I fully understand your concern.

Hi, do you ship to Iran? How much would be the shipping cost? I can pay via PayPal.

VisionEngineering microscope are truly amazing. For soldering and repairing electronics, they offer a working experience next to nothing. They're also very expensive.
What makes them unique is you don't need to focus your eyes on the eyepieces and this prevents eye fatigue.

Wes , do you know if glycerol can produce the same effect? Does it harm the water organisms in a short run for simple and short observation?

Great catch. Looks like a feat of engineering. These comparison microscopes always fascinate me. I'll suggest open a new thread for the LED retrofit job, assuming precisely equal light intensity for both specimen is important (not sure about that), you need a self adapting current mirror driver. Upd...

I'm sure your persistence will pay. Don't give up.
How do you measure the exact dimensions of the prisms? Do you use a refractometer as well?

Nice looking upgrade. Looks it has a proper condenser and that gives you lots of different illumination possibilities. Dark field, oblique, polarized and more creative ones. Happy new microscope. I love the smell of brand new stuff out of the box. Hope it smell good

That's jaw dropping mate. It belongs to an art gallery.
Just out of curiosity: is there any DIC compatible (and affordable) kit for cheaper Chinese microscopes? Or perhaps use Olympus universal consider and DIC inserts with a Chinese clone of Olympus CHA?
