Re: Zeiss incident light microscope

Hi William, the grey bodies of your incident-light-micros are those of the later types. The black compositions are elder and seldom. I've searched a long time to find one with a black rack. As a user (more than a collector) you have there two well-equipped incident light micros, which could be used ...

Re: bugs

Hi, Mintakax

I first thought it to be something like a brooch, maybe even celtic.
But now I think, it's only a small nematode as a parasite.

Re: bugs

Hi michael,
thanks!
The cyan background shall hide some "photo-problems".
:?

Hi Wes,
I hoped, you would tell me.
Unfortunately I have no idea.
Perhaps someone can help.

Re: some other Zeiss toys

thank you for this interesting detail, 75RR,
the period of the black WL seems to start 1959. Even in the german forum could no one supply evidence for an earlier start.

Re: some other Zeiss toys

Hello Wes, you are right: the one in the foreground left is a Neofluar 63/0,90, left behind a Planapo 40/0,95, the objectiv with the white band is a Planapo 100/1,3 oil and there are also a Planapo 25/0,65 and a Neofluar 6,3/0,2. Some of these had been delivered with the microscope. Best regards Rei...

I'm afraid not.
I think, it's a later type.
Thank you for showing it.

Re: some other Zeiss toys

Hi Bob,

of course you are right!
The GFL (the "Standard") was a few years ahead.
Do you know the start time of the WL ?

some other Zeiss toys

Here some further black "Standard" microscopes from Zeiss: this is the smallest Zeiss-Standard-micro, the " Junior ". It was one of the first new microscopes of Zeiss after the war https://s19.directupload.net/images/191025/ljavhxjq.jpg this is the "Standard GFL " with "optovar" and "Universal-Konde...

Zeiss incident light microscope

how about another black Zeiss-toy for best-agers like us. It's a "Zeiss-Auflichtmikroskop" a bit difficult to find in black and in a good shape, because they have been used chiefly for harder technical purposis. The light is guided through an "incident condenser" into the objectivs (Epiplan HD...

Searching

Hi ,

I'm looking for these two US-micros in good shapes:

-Bausch and Lomb SKW (No. 280.000 - 320.000)
-AO Spencer 29LF (No. 180.000 - 220.000)

Both "gadgets" are those on "boom stands" and from the fourties.
So please ask even your grandfathers :) :)

Re: Zeiss Tessovar

o.k. guys, but what would you say to another Tessovar some tiny steps out of Texas? ;) https://s17.directupload.net/images/191024/kmgth6wg.jpg By the way: only a "full frame"-Cam like i.e. the Canon 5D is able to show the whole area of the tessovar, because it was originally made to work with an old...

Re: Greetings from Germany

Thank's apochronaut for your important descriptions of those special microscopes. The "Spencer AO 29LF" was also the "warhorse" of B.B. Cunningham and L.B. Werner during their work on the "Metallurgical Project", the isolation of the first artificial element "Pu". They used this or the "Bausch & Lom...

The Black Photomicroscope from Zeiss

Hi, here some pictures of a more than rare microscope from Zeiss (about 1957). It's the mother of all photomicroscopes and my "blue mauritius" ;) It took more than a year, to find all the equippement for it with it's special mounts ("Tauchschwalbe") This black beauty is one of only four, that are id...

Greetings from Germany

Hello everyone, I'm a retired (68) radiologist with interests in microchemistry and microscopy. Preferably I am working with stereo-microscopes to control chemical reactions and proofs of anorganic material in micro- and capillary cones. Moreover I am somewhat like a collector of special Zeiss micro...
