Returning my Omax M83EZ
Hi. I found out today that, contrary to the ebay uk listing, this scope doesn't have a recommended dark field kit, so I'm sending it back. So, now that I've found this helpful forum, I'd be really grateful for any thoughts/recommendations for a trinocular compound scope... not amscope this time. Pri...

Re: Hello
Thank you all. I've only had my first microscope for a week or so, but having great fun already... sampling from jars of water and silt from the local stream, and from puddles in the park... and I've got a 40l aquarium on order. I've just got to get photography set up now. Wish I'd discovered this h...

Hi. I'm only a few hours ahead of you in the forum, but Welcome. There's a beginners' thread, where you can ask anything relevant to the hobby. Already, I've found the folks there very helpful.
All the best, Michael

Hello all. Thank you so much for your help, and apologies for the delayed reply. Hobbyst46: I didn't know that, so thank you for the information. I'm guessing that the shallower one would be sufficient for me. MicroBob: I hadn't thought of the lens effect of the concave glass. But I like the idea of...

Re: deep well microscope slides
Thanks Sauerkraut, that's very helpful. I'm not geared up to photography yet, though I'm aiming to be... so maybe I should invest in some DW slides for general viewing, and then try both for photography, which I'm only going to use as a kind of digital notebook just for fun. Thanks again.

deep well microscope slides
Hello. I was wondering about your opinions on / experience with deep well microscope slides. I've only bought the usual flat ones so far, but I wonder how much they restrict the movement of some creatures. I suppose that could be a helpful thing, but my first time seeing a rotifer went like this: be...

Hello
Hi, my name is Michael. Approaching my 8th decade, I've just bought my first microscope, and I've really enjoyed the couple of hours critter gazing... my first tardigrade and my first rotifers. Many thanks to Oliver, and Journey to the Microcosmos, for turning me on to this fascinating world. I'm lo...
