Re: Advice buying a stereomicroscope ~200€
I glossed over that one because of the space benieth the lens.... but now it does not look that bad :) One question... this has a max of 40x... is this enough for rocks and leaves and whatnot? In theory could you put 20x eye pieces and get double the magnification? And another question can a canon d...

Advice buying a stereomicroscope ~200€
We had a simple cheap Bresser 20x stereoscope. I gave it away for 20 €, because there we things I could not do, or I was missing: Greater magnification - 40x - 60x. Posibility to fit/view slightly larger objects ~ 10cm rocks Better lights Maybe, Continuos zoom but discrete would be also ok. Maybe, A...

I tried to look at red blood cells. Are these Echinocytes?
I accidentally reopened a scratch and thought its a good occasion to put the blood on a slide. I saw a lot of pointy red blood cells at the edges of the slide. Are these artifacts? Echinocytes? (sorry for the poor phone picture)

Re: Advice on upgrading a stereo microscope
Ok thank you all for your inputs. I think I will call it quits with the old stereoscope and try to orient myself to something new. We use it mainly for biology or geology observing. Little things living on leaves, our fingers :), insects, interesting rocks, pixels of prints , LCD pixels . And of cou...

Re: Advice on upgrading a stereo microscope
So if I got it right the eyepieces will not enable me to "see" more, for that I would need a better stereoscope? Can someone on short explain what difference should I expect? Cause I thought it was only the mechanical part, and the ability to gradually "zoom". I have tried to find a video but had no...

Advice on upgrading a stereo microscope
We are a family of 3 curious about stuff. We have a stereo microscope that fits us quite well https://www.bresser.de/en/Microscopes-Magnifiers/BRESSER-Biolux-ICD-20x-Stereo-Microscope.html but sometimes I feel like more than 20x magnification would help. I think an extra pair of eyepieces to increas...

Help buying a compound microscope
We are a family of 3 that from time to time would like to investigate stuff under the microscope. Nothing serious, more like a on and off hobby. I have a toy ~30Euros compound microscope and I want to replace it with something more useful. Price range 250-400 Euros I will probably want a Trino since...
