Re: Usin Mitutoyo objective on Olympus BHMJ
It works fine, but you'll need tp swap out the olympus eyepieces for nikons or (best) generic 10x/22s, and not use the nfk photo eyepiece. I ended up direct projecting onto aps-c but the tube lens in the illuminator made the extreme corners mushy. You could probably use a Nikon photo eyepiece to ge...

Private Messages are not being send
I encounter the problem that when I send a private message it seems to be stuck in the outbox.
So for ex. I have outbox with 3 messages and the 'sent messages' = 0
Does anyone also have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Re: How to attach camera to Olympus BH2?
Ok it works, I make 3D printed version of dovetail with small modification. I bring NFK lens lower by 5 millimeters and it allow me to adjust focus via U-PMTVC. If anyone interested in 3d file let me know i will share. Thank you everyone who try to help me. Is it possible to send me the file? I tri...

Usin Mitutoyo objective on Olympus BHMJ
I have a Olympus BHMJ metallurgical microscope with trinoc port that uses infinity corrected objectives. I have this one: ULWD MSplan 20x/0.40 na f=180 If I want to change this objective out for a Mitutoyo M Plan Apo 20x Objective with f=200, what would the implications be? Would I have to change th...

Re: Olympus BH2 Trinocular head damaged
If it was listed as used, send it back as with a crack it's not fully functional and "as described". The light path selection slider controls the distribution of light between the eyepieces and the camera head. The prisms that move with the slider position are what directs the proper amount of ligh...

Olympus BH2 Trinocular head damaged
I ordered a trinocular head for my BH2 microscope recently through ebay. Unfortunately it was damaged. There is a slider on this head that moves some glass around, it seems to have two positions. The left part of the slider is okay, the right part that connects to the small handle has a crack in it....

Re: Olympus Photomicro Adapter L Cheaper Substitute
https://i.imgur.com/8FyLkvY.png The microscope camera has a shorter flange focal distance than a dslr, so you can't directly adapt onto the camera mount. You can, however, unscrew the mount, revealing a 67mm thread. With a 67mm to m42 adapter (ie https://www.amazon.com/…/B0…/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_UR2KE...

Olumpus C35 focal flange distance
Can somebody tell me what the focal flange distance is on the old Olympus C35 microscope cameras? I've bought an Olympus PM10A microscope attachement andI'm trying to figure out what adapters I would need to get the image on the sensor plane. I've an adaptation with the PM10A with a Canon EOS, but t...

Re: Periplan 10x/18 on Olympus BHMJ
Mine doesn't have a trinocular head. The periplan should be used with my nikon coolpix 4500 instead of an eyepiece. The microscope is Olympus BHMJ BH-2 UMA. So if I read and understood the comments. This microscope has a 160 mm tubelength and the Periplan 10x/18 also. So I should have no problems us...

Re: Periplan 10x/18 on Olympus BHMJ
Periplan eyepieces will match OK with olympus objectives for viewing, but you'd have a better time with whk 10x/20 eyepieces. If you want to go fancy you will sometomes find olympus of this era equipped with Bausch and Lomb 15x UWF eyepieces which give an incredibly wide field of view (also 20mm fn...

Periplan 10x/18 on Olympus BHMJ
Can these type of eyepieces be used on an Olympus BHMJ metallurgical microscope.
The objectives are finite corrected and f=180.
I have read on the forum that the 10x/18 is for 170 mm tubelength;
Could I use spacers to get to the 180 mm of th BHMJ?
Or should I look for other periplan eyepieces.

Re: Olympus bhmj
Stainless steel tubing, with a reasonably thick wall (say 4mm or 3/16"), is the best relatively affordable option for the post. Some cheap posts are poorly-plated steel. Better OEM ones may have a thick and durable plating. It doesn't have to be as long as in the photo, unless you are examining tal...

Re: Lighting issue Olympus MJ metallurgical microscope
Some things to check: 1) It sounds like when you turn the light on and focus on a specimen, that you're getting a tiny focused spot of light on the specimen. Right? Yes, I can focus the light on the specimen 2) If not (and even so) make sure the half-reflecting mirror present in the optical chain a...
