Re: Zeiss Experts: What Model is This?

With all these choices which standard is the best to get for later upgrades, if money is no object? Zeiss Universal, and cheaper than a WL. I searched EBay for Zeiss Universal and they seem to be very large, which I don't really want. I searched EBay for Zeiss WL and couldn't find any. They have pi...

Re: My New Microscope and need some help

Thank you Rossf. I am happy with the microscope I was able to get. Thank you for the photo tube idea. Thanks 75RR. I was trying the tripod method and it was very difficult trying to get it set up. I could not look down the other eyepiece to search and focus and even though my camera has a viewing sc...

Re: My New Microscope and need some help

Thank you 75RR. Maybe I can put the camera on a tripod looking through the eyepiece until I get a proper head. Would that work? Thank you for the link. I have a lot of reading to do.

Yes, 16 Hobbyst. What are the differences? What does a Zeiss Standard 1 look like and how far do the numbers go?

Re: My New Microscope and need some help

I would like to take pictures of what I see through my microscope. I see some posts where you use a cell phone but I would like to attach my Canon EOS. What are the best options to be able to do this?

Re: Zeiss Experts: What Model is This?

I'm not a Zeiss expert by any means but it looks a lot like mine, which I bought a few weeks ago. They said mine was a Zeiss Standard 15 and the one you pointed to looks very much like it, except mine has a piece between the head and objectives. Here is the discussion: http://www.microbehunter.com/m...

Re: My New Microscope and need some help

I didn't bid on the Zeiss condenser. I'll just stick to what I have until I get to know how to use it. I did get three objectives. Someone recommended Zeiss neofluars and I was able to get some.

Welcome Daruosha.

I am new here also and learned a lot from Oliver's videos. That is a nice collection of microscopes and tools. I hope to be able to prepare specimens like that soon too.

Re: My New Microscope and need some help

Here is a Zeiss Phase condenser. Will it work on my microscope? It also says it has darkfield. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carl-Zeiss-Phase-Contrast-Condenser-VZ-with-achr-apl-1-4-N-A-Lens/124076356310?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160811114145%26meid%3D4a5507e71a024f6b9b7...

Re: My New Microscope and need some help

Thank you very much Hobbyst64, 75RR and Bob for all your help and suggestions. I'm copying and pasting this good information into a document for reference. You all are a great group. Yes, until I get to learn more about this microscope, I will remove the top lighting and concentrate on the regular m...

Re: My New Microscope and need some help

Thank you Hobbyst46. You are right the objective says 40/0,85 instead of 0,65 and I corrected it above. But it doesn't say Ph3. There are some glass with different colors on them on the slide thing on the back (looks like light blue) and color glass in the round thing on the side. I took it out and ...

My New Microscope and need some help

I just bought Zeiss microscope and it looks a lot like this with the top lighting https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carl-Zeiss-Tabletop-Microscope-Standard-14-as-pictured-for-parts/223893634570?hash=item342119be0a:g:GZ4AAOSwhDJeKeLi . I only paid $100 locally and should get it soon. The top light has a weird...

Re: New here

Okay, I think this buying used and finding all the pieces is going to cost me. I bought a Zeiss Standard? It's white with an oblong base. It seems to have lighting from both above and below but only two objectives. The objectives are black with 10X on one and 40X on the other and there is room for t...

Re: New here

Okay, even though the American Optical microscopes seem to be plentiful, cheap and lots of parts available, they are infinity microscopes and limits someone to use only American optical parts. Also I only see achromats and plan achromats. So, I will be dropping them from my consideration. I'm now le...

Re: New here

Thank you again for the welcome. G'day Rossf, I have been looking around. I was initially thinking I would start cheap with something like an Amscope but watching Oliver's YouTube video, maybe something used would be better. If I get used, I would want something that I can upgrade if this bug is mor...

Hi, my name is Larry and I just registered. It's been a while since I've looked through a microscope and looking at your posts and all, I like what I see. I'll be looking around the posts for now to get an idea what I might be interested in. I've looked at some of Oliver's YouTube posts. I'm sure to...
