Hello,
Are the DIC videos on youtube edited to add color?
I assume they have to be because DIC is in black and white usually right?
If so, whats a good software for this?

difference in quality of Dissecting scope?
Hello, I recently starting working in a research lab as an undergrad and have worked with some pretty impressive dissecting scopes such as the nikon SNZ 1500. I perused ebay and found that they are like 5k on a good deal. My budget is more in the <$500. I want something that can give me anywhere fro...

Oblique illumination at high NA
Hey, so im looking to get oblique illumination to work as well as it does at low na <.6 at high na >.6. Whenever i try using simple oblique techniques like setting the condenser off or using a patch the effect ruins resolution on my objectives with an NA higher than .6. i am wondering if there is a ...

Re: Blood help identifying cells
hello, i didnt get to see the image but i assume it was simply the blood cells drying out. I often observe this while looking at blood samples, the same phenomenon happens when the cells are in a hypertonic solution. If you are diabetic, cells often look like this when your blood sugar is high. It s...

PlasDIC questions
hello, ive been looking into plasdic, as i think i will soon be ready to purchase a prism or two. So, from my understanding, rather than using the analyzer prism you replace it with a 'slit' patch stop and the length/width of the slit effects the amount of contrast? additionally, i understand that y...

DIC objectives
Hello, will DIC work if the objectives are not made for DIC? If they are just neofluar or planapo but not DIC specified could those still be used if I had the slider in the tube and the other prism beneath the condenser?

this time i kept the camera still, id recommend watching in at least 720p due to the high compression and low video quality.

Re: DF NA requirements
alright, thank you, do you think my 20x .75NA planapo would do well with the aforementioned condenser? the reason i ask is because when i use DF patch stops for my 20x and 40x the resolution goes down significantly.

DF NA requirements
hi, im looking into purchasing a high NA darkfield condenser to work with NA>.65 objectives. If i bought a 1.3-1.4 oil condenser would this work with objectives with .65-.75NA (Nikon plan 40x .65 and Nikon planapo 20x .75) what would be the lower limit of functionality for this condenser?

Re: .65-.75 NA DF condenser
im using an amscope t610 with nikon objectives. Also, ive read that you dont want to hit the NA cap on the condenser and you should be below it, does this mean would be able to get an DF condenser with a NA of .7-.9 and it would work? Pretty much, how far past the NA of my objectives should the cond...

Coverglass thickness of 0
hey, im looking at some high mag (40-100x) nikon objectives and i noticed that some are very low priced and they all have a coverglass thickness of 0, would the resolution of these objectives be hindered if i used .13-.17mm coverglass? typically, they are the Nikon CF plan infinity corrected. Thanks
