as for the scope its a old analogue cos 6100 100 Mzh KIKUSUI oscilloscope i dabbled a bit with electronics as well
im actually a firefighter by profession.

Maryfox, As you have found out, basic microscopy with low magnifications and relatively low expectations is pretty easy. Once you start up the slope wanting more, it gets a lot more complicated. Hi 75RR i did contemplate it, however have gone for the 5 year warranty that came with a new product ....the infinity lenses did tempt me though. Welcome "Hawk." Given a budget of $200 that's probably an OK place to start. The scope has limitations for an advanced hobbyist; but sort of like having a $25 bicycle and wanting a $4000 one -- anything that works reasonably well beats not having one at all.
