Re: The Kitchen sink scrub pad

Louise, That is what I think. I run very hot water on it before each use and that about takes care of it. -Dennis No, it does not. To pasteurize you need at least 10 minutes at a minimum of 240 ° Fahrenheit. Your immune system is stronger and more capable than you might expect. That's why you never...

Just to say there's a difference between bacteria. generally, and 'germs'. Bacteria are ubiquitous and the vast majority are not pathogenic. Indeed, our own gut flora are essential to our health though need to have the right balance via a healthy diet. I use one of those yellow and green sponges to ...

I wasn't complaining. It just takes an hour or two. I can do other things while it uploads. My speed may be a little slow but I'm uploading 2 or 3 gigabytes each time. Hi Don Hmm... I upload a lot on You Tube. It sometimes takes 3 or 4 hours to upload a full video. You must have a slow internet connection, Don! What upload speed do you have? Re: DSLR issue

In case it is far from parfocal you use the objective with the wrong distance to the object. In some cases not much happens, in other cases the image suffers a lot. Hi I did some fine tuning earlier to make sure the camera sensor is as parfocal with the oculars as possible. It was very close anyway...

Almost! Though I fine focus the camera image via the laptop screen anyway :) I'll be having a closer look at things today.

It's interesting that the violet color stood oit to you but not the equal and opposite green also present in tbe imagr. Here is an example. The same diatom was imaged with a plain (non phase contrast) 40X0.75 Neofluar objective. I believe it is the LED light. Occasionally I observed my diatom slides under halogen light, and there were no purple fringes. Under my current LED, there are fringes, especially under oblique light. I don't see a violet tinge, just typical axial CA. Could it be that your monitor has gotten off calibration? Hi Um what is 'axial CA' ? It's what you're seeing. Thats interesting, I thought direct projection largely eliminates CA, not sure about axial CA tho. You can eliminate the magenta and greens with photo editing software but I suspect you want to eliminate it at the source. What projection method do you use? Afocal or direct projection?
It's an infinity microscope so direct projection after the tube lens. I'm not sure whether there are any additional optics after the tube lens. The view through the oculars doesn't show any tinge.

direct projection to a camera Direct projection wants a camera sensor is at a focal plane, which, by design, is below the first lens in oculars or photo relays. 23.2mm for an EP normally refers to the OD for the adapter to fit into the microscope standard EP tube. e.g. this add shows a 30mm one and 23.2mm one side by side https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140938461878 I have seen those, but never understood their purpose; what optic fits inside such a tube with 2...

The one in your ad can't be both C-mount and 23.2mm for an EP and od of 30mm I found an old JVC video camera with C-mount; it does fit, and the rest now also fits 23.2mm eyepieces. Even before shimming, 22mm of the tube had a smaller i.d. than that final C-mount threaded 6mm, just not small enough....
