Putting labels is definitely an extra work (although I love video editing). However, it forces you to study the specimen in detail and search for information. For me, the beauty of the images is important, but it is more important to know what I am seeing.

With rotifers of this size, I usually place a drop of petroleum jelly on each corner of the coverslip. I do this to allow them to move and to prevent them from being crushed by capillary forces between the slide and coverslip. Smollerthings: Normally I just correct contrast and exposure, the rest is done by the DIC system.

75RR: I live in humid Spain, in a region where acidic springs abound. Yes, these small puddles can be considered incipient peat bogs
