Wanted camera attachment for MBC-10
I have acquired an old Russian MBC-10 stereo microscope. I am looking for a camera attachment for it. I am an OAP with a limited budget. Is there anyone in the UK that might be able to help.

Re: Low budget Insect Scope...
If your budget is limited have you thought of a USB microscope. I have a Teslong USB microscope. It is about the size of a pencil (8mm dia x 150 long) and it gives remarkably good images on screen. I re-enforce this with Picolay stacking software that can be down loaded free from the internet. Hopef...

super glue again
I know that the use of super glue as a mountant was given a bit of a thumbs down, but I find that for some larger things that I want to view with my digital USB microscope, the use of super glue works. I do not use the glue on the item itself but merely as a fixing agent for two slides. I place the ...

Re: superglue
I do keep slides that I have used super glue on well away from my microscopes until finished. The slide are put to one side for several hours in a safe place, any white deposits I carefully remove and then seal the edges of the cover slip with an appropriate sealant. My question re- the use of super...

superglue
I have been trying superglue as a quick drying mountant. It seems OK,but has any one any experience using superglue, if so how does it comparison with other permanent mounting solutions?
PS. As with other mountants I do not go anywhere near my microscope until it has set.

Re: 3 old microscopes
Dear Tim and Bob, Many thanks for taking the time to reply. As I said the frame is was a damaged student monocular compound microscope that had been dropped. Both the eyepiece head and the turret were shattered. The eyepiece head screwed in as did the turret. I unscrewed the remains of the 2 pieces ...

Thank you for your help. I have take a couple of photos of my setup and will do my best to get them on line somehow.
I tried the attachment route below but it tells me the photos are too large. Will try and shrink them.

Re: 3 old microscopes
Dear Tm, I have looked at getting photos up to microbehunter with a view to using Flickr. No way. They want money for it. I presume other platforms also want money. I can send you a photo or two of my microscope set up by email. If you are interested we can email each other but I would need your ema...

Re: Hello from Devon UK
Dear Mike, Again thank you for taking the time to reply. Although beekeeping was a major part of my non work time it was getting a little too much like hard work anyway. Late seventies is no time to be humping hives about. I have already joined the Kernow group but have not as yet had the opportunit...

Re: Hello from Devon UK
Dear photomicro, Thanks for taking the time to reply. Once upon a time I was a very keen beekeeper and discovered the wonderful world of top bar hive beekeeping but the British beekeeping establishment are so hide bound and introspective that I have given it all up. The narrowness and petty one-up-m...

Re: 3 old microscopes
Dear Tim, I find the 20x eyepieces OK but I have changed the 40x object lens with a 2x. The turret has 4 stations so the turret has a 2x, 4x, 10x and a 20x. This is OK for most things that I want to look at. The microscope that I play with the most is the old student compound that I have fitted the ...

3 old microscopes
I have 3 microscopes. An oldish Prior trinocular compound, an old Russian MBC-10 stereo and old damaged student compound that I have modified to take a Teslong branded pencil sized USB digital microscope. The trinocular has a 2mp USB eyepiece 10x digital camera in the third position. I have recently...

Hello from Devon UK
Hi,
I am a retied engineer and ex-beekeeper. My main interest comes from beekeeping and is looking at pollen. I do venture into bits of insect and plant sections. It will be good to have the occasional exchange with more experienced pollen buffs.
