Help Identifying a Leitz Micoscope
Hi everyone, I came across this microscope recently and despite searching could not identify it. Perhaps it is some sort of petrological microscope with both a heated and a polarisation stage? Or maybe its designed to charecterise optics? Pictures here https://imgur.com/gallery/F1oLu7j Any help woul...

Re: Ptychographic Microscopy
Definitely seems doable, a quick search revealed a few quite folloable articles on the topic. https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1361-6463/ab489d "Ptychographic modulation engine: a low-cost DIY microscope add-on for coherent super-resolution imaging" https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-0...

Re: ISSCO BM-4DF microscope for live blood analysis
That variable magnification built in to the head seems like a cool idea Having used the microscope extensively over the past few months I can certainly say that the variable magnification feature is absolutely excellent. Allows for a much more varied range of magnifications and its very convinient ...

Article on Coloured Phase Contrast Microscopy
I came across this article today on the idea of varying phase shift within phase contrast objectives to create coloured PC images. http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/indexmag.html?http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/artjul09/fs-phase.html Very interesting indeed. Apparently the idea was thought up ...

Carl zeiss lensometer / forcimeter on auction right now
I have no use for it, but the current bid is cheap and it looks like an excellent piece of equipment.

Re: DIY Fluorescence Microscopy
does it change the tube length ? Yes, it would make sense that the tube length is changed when I add in the epi illuminator, and yet despite this I have not really seen any difference in terms of the image, focusing distance etc. when it is attatched. Not sure how exactly the optics work out but it...

DIY Fluorescence Microscopy
Hopefully this is the right place to post this. Over the past few months I've ben working on making a fluorescence microscopy setup, which has now culminated in me imaging a potato slice using incident light fluorescence and a dual-stain with auramine and acridine dyes. The upgrade cost less than 10...

ISSCO BM-4DF microscope for live blood analysis
Hello everyone! I have been looking for a microscope for a long while now and finally found a second-hand one for a good price of only £100 (138 USD); the original price was a few thousand Australian dollars. It is made by the “Industrial & Scientific Supply Co.” from Australia and the model is BM-4...
