Re: Spirochetes in blood smear?

Hmm ok thanks. That is an interesting theory but I can't find any images of this on a blood smear.

Also if it was fibrin would there really be so many of these?

Thanks for your help

Re: Spirochetes in blood smear?

Thank you for all the info. Assuming the slides are not repeatedly contaminated by the same thing - would you say that they are abnormal to be in a "normal" blood smear? There are lots of videos that show borrelia b that look very similar if not the same as mine. Also there are many variants of lyme...

Re: Spirochetes in blood smear?

Ok thanks. I was looking into a darkfield upgrade.

I'm not saying these are definitely spirochetes, but if they are not then what are they

Re: Spirochetes in blood smear?

Thanks for the replies. Seek medical attention? I have had 50 gp appointments, admitted to hospital 3 times, ambulance once, neurologist 2 times, Mri and ct head scan. Infectious disease appointments and like I said unless you know about Lyme then you won't know how difficult it is to get an nhs dia...

Re: Spirochetes in blood smear?

Lol! I am not saying this is a diagnosis and those who know of lymes know how hard it is to get a nhs diagnosis. I have a diagnosis privately.

My question was do they look like spirochetes not do I have lymes?

Hi guys - would you be so kind to take a look at my videos. I believe I have lymes disease and have been very sick for 6 months. I think I have found spirochetes in my blood. The camera quality is a bit poor but they are visible. Do you agree they look like spirochetes or something else? I have trie...

Re: Blood Smear Identification Help

Thank you very much. I see - I will be getting a new camera soon which will help with the images.

It mentions that staining and drying can also cause these so maybe its a result of drying.

Re: Blood Smear Identification Help

are these crenated red blood cells?

Is this caused by the way the smear is done and is it normal for this to happen?

Re: Blood Smear Identification Help

They don't look like any wbc. Look more like burr cells with something inside of them. Not sure what they are

Blood Smear Identification Help

Hi guys, can someone tell me what type of cells these are. I did a simple finger prick blood smear.
There are lots of these cells and there seems to be granules inside of each one.

Thanks.
