Re: Magnification of the NFK eyepiece in the Olympus BH-2 system

I m not 100% sure of the question but it seems to be why there is no easy way to get adequate corrections for your Olympus to 1/2" sensor system coupled with adequate frame reduction ? Photo eyepieces such as the NFK 3.3X were originally used with a film camera that had a frame size considerably la...

Magnification of the NFK eyepiece in the Olympus BH-2 system

Hello! So a friend of mine sold me a NFK 3.3x and a U-PMTVC in very good condition for a very good price. I use daily an Olympus BH2 with the epi-illumination system for light reflected microscopy with a Swiftcam SC300 microscope camera (1/2" sensor) and it's 0.5x lens adapter directly plugged in th...

Re: Compatible objectives for infinity corrected olympus BH2

In this case you're skipping the eyepiece corrections entirely, though these adapters often end up cropping down to just the center which reduces aberrations and often have uncorrected aberrations of their own which might affect objective performance. Within the field and general quality limits thi...

Re: Compatible objectives for infinity corrected olympus BH2

It sounds like you also have the Olympus BH2 epi head, which converts it to infinity reflected use? Yes exactly! I have this vertical illuminator: http://ic.onidev.fr/files/images/olympus-bh2-kma-illuminator.jpg As Stephen said, the BH2 -- with or without the epi head attached -- requires some eyep...

Re: Compatible objectives for infinity corrected olympus BH2

Thank you Scarodactyl ! I forgot to specify, but I make the observations only through a camera placed at the top of the trinocular head. I assume the specific corrections you mention work in this case as well? I put my microscope camera (the kind of camera you can place instead of the eyepiece) with...

Compatible objectives for infinity corrected olympus BH2

Hello, Is there a compatibility list of objectives between manufacturers? Or a simple way to check if an objective is compatible with my microscope? I'm looking for Olympus compatible objectives, infinity corrected (so 180mm tube length I assume - and RMS thread). My microscope is an Olympus BH2 wit...

Hello from France

Hello, I'm making semi-conductor photography since two years and I'm making very large panoramas of integrated circuits for reverse engineering, preservation... but mostly for fun. I have a second hand Olympus BH2 with vertical illumination and it works great but I came here to ask some questions ab...
