Re: Diopter jammed, need suggestions please

Hi CE It could be solidified Russian tank grease or is there a dioptre locking screw? It does look like the lens tube could be taken off by removing the base fixing screws. I don't think that removal of the prism covers would give you access to the dioptre adjustment mechanism. I'm sure you will hav...

Re: Attempting Rheinberg-- first steps

Arthur Strange published his method in the 1980's The stops are made from polarising material. 1/ A disc ,the diam of your filter holder is cut and a quadrant is cut out. 2/ A smaller disc is cut from the polar material then centred(accurately)on the disc and accurately crossed and fixed in place.(s...

Re: How to fix a damaged book?

I agree with Peter - clean up the covers and laminate them.Remove the spiral from the pages and dispose of it. Get a ring binder(the kind with two split rings - some have four - for holding the pages) You may be lucky and find you can line up existing holes in the pages with the rings Of course you ...

Hi

Have a look at this :-http://www.alanwood.net.

Look at Microscope Catalogues, instruction manuals and scroll down to Olympus KHC - Olympus KH Microscopes exploded parts diagrams
You might find what you're looking for there

Good luck

I could be wrong, but I think it's a Chaoborus sp. larva
Their transparency gives them the name "ghost" or "phantom" larvae (phantom midge)

I know my eyes are not in their prime, but I cannot see any bubbles in this image.
Bubbles, in my experience, usually show as black circles with white centres.
Could you indicate where the bubbles are?

Hi Les My Biolam had the wheel fine focus, but I didn't like it so I got an older model off eBay and swapped the base. In fact the whole microscope has undergone many mods, I bought it new (my first microscope) :),in the early 90's. I now have a few more than that now Tony East Riding of Yorkshire(UK)
