Re: WTB: Olympus BH2-AN Analyser for DIC
If you really want one, you might consider just buying it. RTP Microscopes is a dealer and they will accept returns, so you have 14 days to make up your mind. You should buy it before I do. Sadly, I need to hold fire a bit because I paid the same amount for the condenser (in British pounds) and bou...

The 100x objective is a regular one. I don't know about the DF condenser.apochronaut wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 11:15 amJust wondering if that is an iris equipped 100X objective and if that frame might have once had a DF condenser in it at times.
What you see in that photo is what I got.

Re: WTB: Olympus BH2-AN Analyser for DIC
I don’t think there will find one cheaper than this.
The one I found online was around this price, but the one on ebay looks like the turn nob is bent and by the post above by woyjwjl it can’t be opened to be fixed (I like my stuff to be working and looking neat ).

Re: What is the diference beetween a Splan Apo and Neo Splan NIC??
Looks like you have the standard Trino head not the wide version: so no advantage in the wider view when switching from DPlan to SPlan objectives. Looks like you have the SC flip top condensor: so max useful objective NA is in the 0.9-1.0 range, and no immersion capability: SPlanApo’s starting with...

Re: WTB: Olympus BH2-AN Analyser for DIC
A few added points: 1) As noted above, the "long barrel" version of the Olympus Vanox upper prism will work on BH2. If you have the upper prism slider but not the intermediate piece it slides into, I believe a polarizing intermediate can work. 2) If you have the long barrel Vanox version of the DIC...

Re: WTB: Olympus BH2-AN Analyser for DIC
Your research may be incomplete: Please look at my earlier link to the Alan Wood site. 1) My BH2 (Long barrel ) DIC set has a BH2-NA analyser, positioned below the Bino/Trino. 2) You do not require the BH2-AN: the 2nd DIC polariser is part of the BH2-NC condensor. 3) The BH2 DIC set is not designed...

Re: WTB: Olympus BH2-AN Analyser for DIC
Andrei, I believe the BH2-AN is just for the analyzer (a polarizing filter in a slider) and that the BH2-NA is the part you want. In any case, be sure the slider has both a Nomarski prism and an analyzer. I have done some research and found that I require the BH2-AN and the BH2-NA for my condenser....

WTB: Olympus BH2-AN Analyser for DIC
Hi Guys,
I currently own a DIC condenser for an Olympus BH2, but sadly it does not come with an analyser.
I want to ask if anyone has one for sale a BH2-AN analyser with a DIC slider.
Please PM me.
Thank you,
Andrei

Re: What is the diference beetween a Splan Apo and Neo Splan NIC??
I found that the best image quality you will achieve is with SPlan Apo's. Please be informed the “front lens - to - sample” distance of the Olympus SPlanApo series is (very) short (starting with the 20*), so a bit risky in beginners hands. I love my 20* SPlanApo (actually have 2) but use it most of...

Re: What is the diference beetween a Splan Apo and Neo Splan NIC??
The neo splans are meant for looking at opaque subjects with nothing transparent on top of them. That matters less at lower magnifications, but at higher magnifications you will get bad results looking at pond life. In terms of optical quality, when set up with the correct optics (an extra lens is ...

What is the diference beetween a Splan Apo and Neo Splan NIC??
Hi guys, I'm new to microscopy (I got an Olympus BH2-BHS) and after some research, I found that the best image quality you will achieve is with SPlan Apo's. But recently I discovered the Neo Splan ( the ones labelled with NIC on the barrel) and after reading about it, the most conclusive I found abo...

Greetings from London, UK
Hi, Guys and Greetings from London UK. I have been watching Oliver on YouTube for quite some time now and finally about one month ago I finally managed to buy my first microscope. https://i.ibb.co/Lgy7N1X/BH2-BHS.jpg The first time I ever saw and viewed through a microscope was in '97, the teacher s...
