Re: Replacement abbe condenser for Olympus CX-31
Well both of them are closer to 36mm if not exactly that, do you happen to have a replacement or know which will fit?

Re: Replacement abbe condenser for Olympus CX-31
Are you referring to the required condenser measurement or the one in the listing link? I've measured my sleeves and condensers to be closer to 36mm

Re: Replacement abbe condenser for Olympus CX-31
I'm currently servicing a CX-31. The condenser shown is from another scope. Unfortunately this one has no abbe condenser and needs a complete replacement. Do you think this one would be adequate if it fits? https://www.ebay.com/itm/304695000332?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=NF-zfnFD...

Repairing Olympus CX-21 stage, replacement bearing cages?
Does anyone know where to procure some replacement cages for the mechanical stage Y-adjustment bearing retaining track? Similar to below but 3 mm wider

Re: Replacement abbe condenser for Olympus CX-31
Of course, should have occurred to me. Just realized my CX-41 condenser in the above photo is also a 1.25 NA. Maybe its from another scope?

Re: Experimentations with high powered LEDs for microscope illumination
Nice! 8 year old thread back from the grave, this is gold though! Maybe now there are even more practical solutions. Unfortunately I know nothing about circuits but I'll be eager to learn.

Re: Replacement abbe condenser for Olympus CX-31
Hello, I appreciate the extensive reply. Maybe it doesn't make a difference but the bodies I am using are CX series and not BX. Here are some pictures of my condensers on my others scopes They seem mechanically interchangeable in terms of fit, but I'm not entirely confident about function. Here is t...

Replacement abbe condenser for Olympus CX-31
Will any 1.25 NA condenser be suitable? It seems that the top lens of the CX-31 condensers are much larger than the CX-21 or CX-41, and older bh2 models.

Older viewing heads on newer bodies
Can older Olympus BH2 or CK2 viewing heads be used on newer microscope bodies like the CX series or are the viewing heads corrected for 160mm/infinity?

Olympus CK2 won't power on
I've tried using a good bulb, but no dice, so I opened it up and see the white wire connecting from the power supply to the light regulation knob has a very black and burnt terminal. Is this the culprit for my microscope not powering on? Screenshot 2024-04-06 at 6.30.16 PM Small.jpeg If so, would it...

Re: Freeing objective cover slip collar on Olympus ULWD CDPlan 40PL?
Thank you guys all so much, you've all provided so much helpful information. I have successfully freed the cover slip collar as of today and returned this objective to its fully functioning status once again and I definitely couldn't have done it without you guys! Thanks again

Re: Freeing objective cover slip collar on Olympus ULWD CDPlan 40PL?
Are the instructions starting on page 30 of https://www.alanwood.net/downloads/olympus-lb-objectives-sticky-tip.pdf relevant to your objective? Yes! Incredibly helpful, I was able to further remove the retaining ring from the outer barrel. Upon attempting to try to slide the correction collar off I...

Re: unmarked long silver objective lens?
Thanks for the input, yes the yellow banded objective is a 10x. When I try to match the magnification to my other scope's objectives, it looks to be a 40x, and has a phase contrast ring. But when searching for a matching 40x, none of the tips match this one, but instead match the 20x. I was looking ...
