Re: PZO PhS

My main reason for posting was my lack of knowledge in what Positive Phase Contrast (PPC) is supposed to look like since I simply don't know. From my searching it looks more like what is described as Anoptral Phase Contrast. I would also like to see a few "examples" of what amplitude-phase "objects"...

Re: PZO PhS

The image below was shot with the same setup (PhS setup) but using the LED illumination in place of the stock PZO bulb illuminator. I still had the same problem, meaning seeing the LED in the background. The illumination was turned way down with nearly dark background. Obviously I've cleaned up the ...

I was experimenting with my PZO Biolar and the K3Ph condenser and PhS objective accessory kit the last few days. Does anyone have direct experience with the PZO phase setups and this arrangement, meaning positive phase contrast PhS? Looking for some explanations if there are any to give since I have...

Re: Doing Diatoms a Different Way

Can you post a link or screen shot of the article/paragraph that advises that purchase and its intended use. Is it for a home made hot-plate? I wasn't sure if I was allowed to post the link. Here's the link, bottom of page. https://www.diatomsireland.com/micromanipulator-intro/connectors-needles-an...

Re: Doing Diatoms a Different Way

New here and my first post other than my introduction. Looking for some specific guidance on buying a spirit lamp with an adjustable wick via the article I was given by someone else that was on diatomsireland.com. I assume the article was talking about a Alcohol lamp? Sure would appreciate a link, b...

Arizona Microbehunter

I wasn't aware of this forum until Eddie provided me a link. I been interested in photography since the film days, mostly medium format and Astrophotography (Pentax 67). I restore vintage 50's and later telescopes and fabricate and machine unobtainable parts for them. I am mainly interested in learn...
