Cleaning Fungus from Microscope Optics

Hello, I recently took some microscopes out of storage after several years and discovered fibrous growths on some of the internal optics of my eyepieces. There were also similar growths on the prisms of my microscope heads. I assume that they are some sort of fungus. They are visible under microscop...

Re: Leica ergonomic stereo microscope head schema?

Hello,

Were you able to resolve your issue?

I recently purchased a Leica maintenance service training manual on EBay for some microscope bodies and heads such as this one. I can take a look and see if there are instructions for servicing this head.

Re: My new (to me) Wild M10 & Leica Rotterman Contrast base

I received the filter holder today. It fits perfectly. However, it doesn't have the filter slide/holder. LeicaWildM10-FilterHousing.jpg I also bought a newer version of the filter holder for the Leica M Series of microscopes. The Ebay seller said it will also fit the M10 and it comes with the filter...

Re: My new (to me) Wild M10 & Leica Rotterman Contrast base

Hello, Thanks for finding the filter holder. I ordered it right away. I didn't want to lose it. It should work on my M10. If not, it will work on my M8 for sure. Now all I need is the proper filters or filter media/sheets. Can anyone recommend a source? I'm thinking a 1/4 lambda or lambda. I think t...

Re: My new (to me) Wild M10 & Leica Rotterman Contrast base

I saw a photo of a filter holder on the M10 in the M10 manual and I thought that was what you had. See the attached photo from the manual.

Re: My new (to me) Wild M10 & Leica Rotterman Contrast base

Congratulations on your M10! It took me years to find my first M10 so I know the feeling. You have a nice setup. It's nice to know someone who could do some custom machining to make your adapters. You mentioned that you have a "Wild/Leica filter slider unit for stereos". Do you have a part number fo...

FOUND: Leica 10446300 Adapter Ring Needed

I found an equivalent set of Leica adapters (10450552 and 10450308) that works and no longer need the 10446300 adapter.

Re: Looking for Leica Wild M10 user/service manual

I'm sorry for the very late reply.

No. It's better to have more light transmittance. I would chose the 404891 over the 180570.

Do a search on EBay now and you will find three 404891s.

Good luck!

Leica 10446300 Adapter Ring Needed

I recently purchased a Leica Near Vertical illuminator (part # 10445198) for my Leica Wild M10 stereo microscope. In order to get this illuminator to thread on to my M10, I need a Leica 10446393 adapter ring and a Leica 10446300 adapter ring. I was able to purchase the 10446393 adapter but I have no...

Need Focus Drive for Wild Heerbrugg M8 Stereo Microscope

I have a Wild Heerbrugg M8 stereo microscope with a stripped rack and pinion gear in the focus drive. I can no longer raise and lower the microscope. It just slips down. I have been unable to find a focus drive for it or replacement rack and pinion gear. Does anyone have a spare focus drive for an M...

Re: Looking for Leica Wild M10 user/service manual

It's a solid microscope! High quality. Thanks for your manual and brochure. I would recommend the Leica\Wild Heerbrugg phototubes: 404891 and 180570. I own both of these. The 404891 has better light transmittance in the photo mode. The 180570 loses 50% light transmittance in photo mode but the loss ...

How Do I Set the Zoom Magnification Range on a Leica Wild M10 Stereo Microscope?

I was very lucky to find a Leica Wild M10 stereo zoom microscope on EBay for home use after looking for almost a year. I'm having a problem setting the range of zoom magnification settings. There is a window next to both zoom knobs showing the zoom magnifications settings: 8, 16, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50,...

Re: Looking for Leica Wild M10 user/service manual

I played more with Acrobat and got the file size to 5.53 MB. This is still too big so I split the file into 5 parts with Acrobat.

Re: Looking for Leica Wild M10 user/service manual

I tinkered with my Adobe Acrobat Pro settings and with maximum compression I was able to get it down to 23 MB. I downloaded and installed Mass Image Compressor and compressed the jpgs that I originally scanned to 70% quality. I then went back to Acrobat Pro and created another PDF with the 70% quali...

Re: Looking for Leica Wild M10 user/service manual

Hello! Wow! I'm jealous. I use one everyday at work but I am in a quest to find one for home that I can afford. I scanned the user manual and converted it to PDF format but the file size is 148 MB. I need to find a way to reduce the file size so that I could send it to you easily if you are interest...
