Thanks for the extremely detailed reply I appreciate it. It does answer my previous post as well which is great. I will have to scout local areas for that type of ecosystem but I guess that’s part of the fun. On a side note it would be good if we could get detailed explanations of sample collection ...

Can I ask how you found this organism and how common they are to find?

Thanks for the replie, I will look into the dark field suggestion did a quick google search and the images do look interesting. I'll keep you posted.

Growing silver

Not sure how easy it is to get your hands on silver nitrate but if you can try adding a drop to a speck of copper and prepare to be amazed. I'm far from a chemist but as far as I am aware this is a displacement reaction and as the silver crystals grow copper nitrate is formed. IMG_1749.JPG IMG_1750....
