Re: No idea I
The sample is from a small non-potable fount. The colors are natures and it will have about 400x-600x. You can do a lot worse than to start with this book: How to know the fresh-water algaehttps://archive.org/details/howtoknowfreshwa00pres I downloaded the book, it will help me a lot. Thanks everyon...

It may be, honestly, they all seem the same to me.actinophrys wrote:I don't think it is Codosiga, which have small oval cells on a thread-like stalk. This looks more like Anthophysa, or Anthophysis

Re: Identification of common things
How stupid! I always ignored it thinking that it was the remains of an open egg.
The funny thing is that I have never seen the 'bug' itself.
Does anyone know what is the third picture?

Identification of common things
Hi all. In the following pictures I show you some things that I often see and I do not know what they are. They do not move, it's as if they were eggs hatched? Does anyone know? Re: Looking for camera
I found an AC adapter on eBay. Take the battery out, insert the adapter, plug in and that's it. The AC cable does not use any of the electronic inlets of the camera - it connects into a "dummy battery" that is part of the AC adapter kit. I do not find anything similar for my camera, the pentax k-x....

Re: Achromatic plan, is it worth it?
I will try to express myself as best as possible, my English is very bad. As I said, I am starting in this hobby and I have not been long, for now I enjoy the protists that I am collecting from standing water, the bacteria seem more boring to me. I have also about 10 slides too. I have the objective...

Re: Looking for camera
I have tried to place the reflex on the tripod, it is quite uncomfortable, getting the perfect fit is not easy, besides, it does not leave me much room to move. I have had more time these days and I have been able to try the reflex in the microscope, I think I have lost the fear and seeing the quali...

Re: Achromatic plan, is it worth it?
My microscope is an optika b-159, I observe stagnant water and some homemade crops.
I had seen those example photos, they are small and you can not see much difference.
From what you have said, I think it is not worth investing in flat objectives.

Achromatic plan, is it worth it?
I have a binocular microscope with achromatic objectives for hobby, I wonder if it's worth substituting them little by little for plan achromatic objectives.
Could someone put the same photo (large size) with a plan and achromatic lens to see the difference?
thanks

Re: Reflex in a binocular
Thanks for your answer. I should have bought a trinocular, my fault. The first point does not happen to me, the microscope weighs more than the reflex. A reflex weighs about 500-600g (1,1 lbs) while an eyepiece camera a half? I think I should buy one instead of using the reflex. What do you think? I...

Do you think it is risky to use a reflex in a binocular in a usual way? Could something be ruined by the weight?

I am using my reflex to take pictures with my binocular microscope, I use a T2 ring and an adapter to eyepiece like that: http://thumbs.subefotos.com/c34773bfae08cf2fe35ea67ac1e2ff5ao.jpg http://thumbs.subefotos.com/e94246c5d0e63abbede247abd8a3be08o.jpg In all the photos a horrible halo appears. Re: Looking for camera
Just one advice - related to your question. There are many vendors of relatively inexpensive USB "eyepiece cameras" that can be installed in the eyepiece tube, and they are small and light-weight. Some of them include relay optics, which I think are generic. They are 2-5MP mostly. A colleague told ...
