I have an old book "Lehrbuch der Protozoenkunde" - Franz Doflein. Aprox 1000 pages with so many great illustrations, also so many Parasitic and pathogenic forms. . Thanks for the lead... great ending to this story - read it with increasing tension to see which scope he would choose!! GREAT CHOICE - a scope that you can most likely pass on down through your generations, with it retaining consistent quality... one that was manufactured by a well-paid craftsman, not a mistreated factor...

I have photos of adults from human liver infestation... the heads are like a snails... the thinner nozzle-like part coming off of the plumper body. they can get pretty big - more than an inch. seeing as a lb. of agar costs between $70-90.... weren't you a bit concerned
about the quality of what you were buying for $8.50? Frontier has their
price reduced to $42 right now, if you are interested in buying a larger
quantity - but I think they source out of china, once again, buyer beware...

lol... I was thinking the response was from ex-marine about his camera. trying figure out how 'lead pipe cinch' had anything to do with a mode of photography. I have never heard that saying before. googled it.

thanks, yes - a friend just gifted me with four of those lamps (an older model - 3w) - they are pretty cool. I have been thinking about how they could be manipulated for different types of light output or controls. but LED light wears terribly on my eyes, and I am not liking what I am learning about...

Thanks for The Diatom Shop lead charlie g... trying to justify buying an older stereo microscope - but now I am wondering if a set of apochromatic objectives might be a smarter priority. awaiting the sage advice of Einman. (ortho-illuminator 'out for delivery' today btw, thanks again).
