Re: What happened to the Microbe Hunter magazine?

First of all, many thanks Oliver for this wonderful forum and your YouTube channels which I look forward to every week. If producing a printed magazine would detract from your current activities I would think that would be a very sad outcome.

Re: MANY Objective lenses available for sale - Barn Find

Just another eBay Hawker, overpriced to boot. Whatever you may think, for those looking for a nice used Carl Zeiss Photomicroscope iii he has had some nice deals. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carl-Zeiss-Photomicroscope-/254521986500?hash=item3b42b14dc4 BUT he is an EBAY Seller and been so since 2006,...

Re: Adaptors from 50 to 500$..how is it possible ?

Try first with a tripod to hold the camera in position above the eyepiece. Then a least you will know how far above the eyepiece you need to be with any adapter you decide to make.

Hi Antonio I can see 2 images.

I always had problems sharing images from Google Photos, so now don't use it for this forum.

Re: Filter Holder Modification. (Darkfield Oblique)

Hi SarahC, thanks for the compliment. I will have to get out the tools again this year and make a nicer filter holder, the first one was just a proof of concept even though I have used it on a regular basis since I made it, it is a little frustrating to have to fiddle with it every time. Some thinne...

Re: Google Photos Link Test

I seem to remember going through this once before. I never did get G Photos to consistently display images it appeared to work only when I was logged in to G Photos. I later found this site which works fine and have used it ever since. Use the link 'Hotlink for forums'. It contains the url tags so j...

Maybe you have some parts missing from under the stage.

Best bet would be a long arm stereo especially for fossils and rocks. It's a real pain not being able to get focus because the specimen is too big.

Very nice, well done. You should put a side by side comparison photo, before and after. It's a pain having to scroll up and down to see the differences. :D

Re: YoupTekView for OMAX camera

All Touptek USB camera part numbers begin with TP as the first two characters followed by six numbers and one letter. Omax is unlikely to be the manufacturer of this camera, it is most probably from Touptek. I have a camera which I bought from Bresser which is made by Touptek but branded Bresser and...

Join the club. There is so much more fun in being a beginner, you can get away with almost anything and ask lots of what appears to some as being 'dumb' questions and find out the most amazing things. We have quite a number of courses here in Germany that my wife can attend as learning courses and g...

I don't think Dave S was berating anyone for not visiting the website, just expressing an opinion that it would be sad to loose a site that he clearly thinks is good. After all said and done we all don't have the same interests even on this website. Some like to pull old microscopes apart and fix th...
