Re: Striatella unipunctata x2

Many thanks KD Arvidsson

It helps make a better image when the diatoms are attractive. I like these and find the chamfered corners rather curious.

Re: Beginner that wants to study fungi

Welcome and congratulations on your Microscope. As Scarodactyl says, that is a serious microscope. It is part of the Zeiss (finite 160) modular system, as such you can tailor it to your needs. This is a link to the Zeiss Optical Systems brochure : http://www.science-info.net/docs/zeiss/ZeissOpticalS...

Re: Compatibility between PH objectives and condenser

Firstly, in finite systems, the eyepieces form part of the lens correction. This means that the objective and the eyepieces should be considered as one. In practice, ...

This is my Arachnoidiscus from a sample sent to me from Edmonds, WA. Sample was cleaned and mounted in Zrax about two years ago. Misread your opening sentence. Thought at first that the slide was by Edmonds. Only now did I realize that it was yours! Most impressive work, as can be judged by your im...

Nice catch. How did you set your plankton net to trawl at that specific depth?

Were you on a boat or on shore?

How did you fix your lighting issues btw?
After checking the wiring, cleaning both the brush and the track, and a small amount of soldering, the source of the problem was finally traced to the ... wait for it ... light bulb. :)
