How to preserve crystallized chemicals on a slide.

My goal it to create slides of household chemicals, and other pure chemicals including things like epsom salt, amino acids, ascorbic acid &c. Some crystals keep well enough, others degrade, even so, I would like to mount them in a way that ensures their longevity in the way other slides, like biolog...

Are Zeiss Fluorescence filters interchangeable?

Hello, I recently came into owning a Zeiss Universal from Bill on the board here. With the scope came several attachments. One being a Zeiss III RS epi-fluorescence head pictured in this link: https://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/artfeb10/dw-III-RS.html I'm curious if excitation filters can be canni...

Re: Youtube channels on microscopy?

I've recently started a channel where I will be making videos 5-20 minutes in length about different topics using DIC microscopy primarily. My channel will have some attempt to be entertaining, but the main focus will be on the quality and depth of the information produced for the viewer. It can be ...

Re: Retrodiode LED conversion

I use one of their products on my Nikon S-kt. The product is good, but will second JGardner on the banding produced in photographs below 100% brightness. I however find the price point at ~$150 USD to be too high. It is after all an LED, 3D printed plastic housing, an aluminum heat sink and a bright...

Re: Olympus Short Barrel Plan Apo's on a Nikon L-ke

Hm. Thank you again to everyone who replied. The objectives arrived today, they are the short-barrel 160mm tube length plan apos. I put them on the Nikon L-ke, and the field of view definitely had trouble with focus, and looking through my Nikon H.K.W 10x produced significant strain to the eye. I su...

Found: Nikon Optiphot II

I am looking for a Nikon Optiphot II.

It is not necessarily required to have a nosepiece with objectives, but preferably it has a stage and trinocular head.

Please let me know if you have anything like this.

Thank you,

Olympus Short Barrel Plan Apo's on a Nikon L-ke

I am curious if these objectives are interchangeable. I am are that short barrels on older microscopes nearly always require compensating oculars. It seem that 'HKW' is required for my nikon objectives, and online queries of olympus oculars seem to be labelled 'WHK'. I ordered a 160mm tube length pl...

Wanted: Leitz 160 or 170mm Objectives, Plan or Better

I'm putting together a fluorescence microscope, the Leitz Ortholux II.

I'm looking for a set of objectives plan or better. Fluorescence objectives seem rare, as well as plan apos. I'm happy to see anything sellers have on offer. Reply here or PM me.

Thank you all for your time.

Hello all, Thank you for your time in looking at my post. As the title suggests I am looking for a convex collector lens and thin diffuser lens which go in front of the light source. Wanted: Nikon S-kt Trinocular Head

I'm looking for a trinocular head. This was in a previous thread, and while I thought I had fixed the item, I can tell the damage to the prisms is greatly affecting the image quality.

If anyone has such an item, I would be interested in buying it for a reasonable price.
