Re: First microscope for fun and imaging.

A great way to start with children is with an inexpensive stereo scope. They can pretty much plop anything on the stage...feather, insects (preferably dead or in a petri dish, so it doesn't crawl away)... and see detail that they never will see with the naked eye with minimal preparation. Stereo sco...

Leitz Ortholux Petrographic

One of my Leitz Ortholux microscopes. This is the petrographic setup with mono head with photo tube, rotating circular stage with point count slide holder and individual quick change Pol objectives.

Thanks for the picture!

Looks good but I need one where I can get my chair in there closer. They probably have that variation.

Re: Introduction

That's the best thing with the Internet sites like ebay...you can find most anything you want...Cheap, if you have patience and know what you are looking at. I'm looking for a sturdy work bench with storage/drawers for working on my microscopes. Can you post a picture of your whole workbench from Ik...

Functional Lego Microscope

I want one of these:

I'm sure with some more tinkering, you could get the TL to 160, be able to put a standard eyepiece in the top and screw in an objective in the bottom to get more than 10X magnification.

Bausch and Lomb 1876 Professional

Here is a 19th century Bausch and Lomb binocular microscope. There are so many things that turn, swivel and pivot. Gives some nice reasonable images.

Re: A Few of my Modern Microscopes

Thank you all!

Yes, the Few which I use regularly. I don't have a round number of how many I have, just a Few hundred, but only 8-12 which I use regularly. The rest are shelf queen restorations of 19th and early 20th century microscopes.
