Re: HOW TO FIND SHARK TEETH

Thanks, I hope we can have a little micro-fossil interest and photo`s at some point in time. But if the specimen can fit on the stage and focus to some degree we can look at it.
Warning, don`t crash an objective down on a hard rock.

Very nice image with photo shop, good reason led`s don`t evaporate the water as much, time is very important, wasted time is just wasted.

Re: HOW TO FIND SHARK TEETH

I have a lot of shark teeth I sifted out of the north east Florida coast several years ago, I was more interested in prehistoric mammal bones than the teeth, but interesting anyway.

Re: Super Glue

Very interesting, thanks for the photo`s. I would keep any super glue formulas away from microscope optics, because I have seen what cyanoacrylate formulas can do with some optical glass I was working with,,, as stated above, esp. if you have heat in that area even after the glue has set. What I und...

Re: Rotifers feeding inside plant

Speaking of organisms feeding inside plants, we have the pitcher plants growing in this part of the south but they are very much on the decline because of habitat destruction of mostly man made events. I took several samples of a little water located at the lower base of the pitcher plants and viewe...

Re: Genus: Meloe metallic blue meadow oil-beetles,M. americanus

We have several species of blister beetles in the humid south Georgia; I made one mistakes several years ago after handling a blister beetle around July etc., when I wiped the sweat off the top of my eye brow and the oil toxins migrated down into the top part of my eye from the continuous sweating. ...

The White Lined Sphinx Moth Larva

This is a camera close up shot of a species of a white lined sphinx moth larva as a later L 3 stage at aprox. 3.5 in. in length est.. They are often called humming bird moths as adults and are good pollinators for certain plants.. As adults moths I have yet to capture one in flight that was worth lo...

Wild Berries As Stain:

I just took a quick photo of some wild berries and the plant section from our farm. I squashed up one of the little purple berries from the photo and it made a nice index finger print onto the paper which may not be all that visible from the camera. This is a wicked purple stain that does not wash o...

Those are nice sharp looking bubbles. I wonder if you created an almost perfect bubble in the lab, how well could you see it if at all with the microscope. I`m not sure how perfect a bubble could be.

Just my 2 cents, but no I don`t think it will take man species a long time to catch up with the rules of evolution, most likely a lot quicker. We have the means to destroy ourselves a lot quicker than the fish that crawled out onto the banks and eventually developed legs etc., etc., and without the ...

I forgot to mention the reason I purchased the C-5 was after the Sky & Telescope article "Measuring the Universe", dated October 1993. This article has test reviews of the new Celestron C-5. I`m not sure if you can pull these old issues up are not since I haven`t looked yet. Nice read about the univ...

Re: Telescope/spotting scope advice or offers wanted

For over 15 years I have been using my Celestron C-5. I generally use this scope more as a high powered and large spotting scope than for astronomical use, but this one will get you into the moon craters for sure. I hope they still make these scopes as good as the older ones but who knows. They were...
