Still the same pond...the rotifiers genus Collotheca are always impressive to watch because of their size and the huge crown funnel with its long eyelashes.

Re: A trinocular phase contrast Zeiss standard on eBay
I have no relation whatsoever to that listed item or the seller. Were I a potential buyer, I would have tried to achieve a bargain. Hi Hobbyst46, no doubt that you do not have a benefit, you where just sharing the hint to promote for others, got it. What I was was trying to say: If I would want to ...

Re: A trinocular phase contrast Zeiss standard on eBay
Hi Hobbyst46. Yes looks interesting. One thing that I have spotted is a bit of corrosion on some of the screws. It may be just cosmetics, but it could also be an indicator of some poor or inproper storage. Finally it is difficult to conclude just by the fotos. Generally I think that a hint to an eba...

Indeed a great video.
Any reaons why you have chosen the blue coloured contrast?
I am not an expert with video making. It is probabely not a DSLR system that allows you to make videos with 120 fps? How would the same look like with less fps?

I personally think Microscopy is a cheap hobby. The initial investments may look high, but the items will last forever. If you you buy second hand scopes you probabely could even resell the stuff without loosing any money. There are no membership fees or running operating cost.

Re: How to package a microscope!?
Good packing practice according to Apochronaut: "...the entire shipping carton stuffed full of bubble wrap or loosely crumpled large sheets of paper in between the components or their small cartons." Here is an alternate if you do not have crumpled paper for stuffing the gaps: Just use 12 (!!!!) lab...
