Re: Zeiss Photomic III - Canon
If the stage still does not work perfect you eventually want to consider a complete dismantle & re-lubrication with grease. I have linked to a kind of step by step manual, it is refering to the Zeiss Standard WL, but the Phomi stage coarse is the same (both are interchangeable): https://www.mikrosko...

Re: Wanted - Zeiss intermediate rings - and/or dic sliders for standard
I have used the 0,63nA condensor with the 63/1.4 Objective, so it would well for the DIC. But as 75RR explained you waste a lot of the possible resulution of the objective. So for such high numeric objectives better to use the condensor with 1.4NA Frontlense, like this one: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Z...

Re: Sperm explosion - Stephanosphaera pluvialis, sexual reproduction
Hello Viktor, indead - Anne Gleich really makes phantastic photos! I press my thumbs that you will find the S. pluvialis. Another alternate would be that I sent you some resting aplanospores, so you can grow them on your side. But at the moment I am not convident that the cultures will develop well,...

Sperm explosion - Stephanosphaera pluvialis, sexual reproduction
For me observing the algae Stephanosphaera pluvialis has always been a very special, magic or majestetic moment...you understand what I mean if you ever had the change to observe them. I have shared a video in a previous post (look here if you are interested) http://www.microbehunter.com/microscopy-...

Re: Zeiss 465285 Inko Condenser
A bit of warming up should not be an issue. And as stated, good "grip" with some tools as described is essential, without applying too much mechanical tension. Maybe one more hint: Also you can apply a small dop of WD40 on top of the 0.32NA lens. Right there where you can see the red 0.32 printing. ...

Re: Zeiss transmited DIC nosepiece
1.) Many Zeiss owners (quite rightly) disapprove of this as they are factory aligned and it is a real shame to mess that up. I have retro-fitted and installed several Zeiss nosepieces with DIC stools. Allignment of the slot direction itself is not really the problem. But the retrofitted DIC stools ...

Re: Zeiss removable nosepiece cleaning and lubrication
Congratulations Hobbyst46. Excellent documentation! I am sure it will help a lot of Zeiss Standard, Phomi, Universal and IM used microscope buyers and users. The principal to dismantle and relubricate is the same for all the old Zeis finite scopes. As you have mentioned, the first screw has a revers...

It would seem from the link below that the Canon 600D which is the same as the Canon T3i (just a name change for the North American market) does have EFSC, but only when Live View is activated. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... p?p=145406 Interesting article, thanks for cross linking. Re: Olympus bx50 microscope
The UV portion of the Halogen Lamp is quite small (see hyperlink below), also there are many glas lenses between light source and human eye. More important is the IR Filter - and this is fitted by Olympus in the lamp housing. https://www.mikroskopie-forum.de/index.php?topic=32598.msg240689#msg240689...

Thanks Rapidray! Thanks for an excellent comparison. Was the first photo taken with "optimal" vibration-less camera settings, viz locked mirror, EFCS shutter etc ? Very good points! Actually I had forgotten to set the mirrow lock, so I have edited my previous post and added last picture where the mi...

Even a little vibration will a marked negative effect at high magnification high resolution. Hi 75RR, absolutely agree! Re: Field of View - Zeiss Universal vs. Leitz Orthoplan
For me I instantly enjoyed working with the KPL 12,5x Objektives (that have a FOV of 18) together with the wide field nose piece. This makes a FOV of 22.5, what I still can observe without moving the eyes. So its relaxing and I like this - it is really big cinerma. I switched to KPL 12,5x Objektives...

Re: Zeiss Standard DIC adapter ring
No there is no stray light issue. The only thing is that eventually dust may pass into the optics. So it probabely a good idea to close the opening slit, as Microbob has mentioned, tape should be fine if there is no slider available. Some may be wondering what does a Nosepiece equipped with DIC stoo...
