Re: Can I buy difference lenses?

If the lenses are RMS / DIN 20 thread per inch mount, you can buy any number of lenses as this has become the industry standard whether they are finite or infinite lenses.
If they are not standard you make be up the creek without a paddle. You'll be in for quite a search.
Good luck. Greg

Re: Fuzzy Image

Internal dust could be the problem. But it would be unusual. Most of the time these things tend to stay clean inside. I suggest the following: 1. You could blow into it with dry air. Cover you mouth with a handkerchief. (not a tissue!) and blow into it. It may improve. 2. By all means remove the hea...

Re: Polarized Light Scope References

PLM scopes vary by manufacturer. How polarization works is that there are two polarized lenses or sheets in use. One is below the slide, usually at the illuminator or possibly in the filter holder. The other is built into the light path above the slide and nosepiece. When these two polarizing lenses...

Re: What Is This Item For.

The item is a focus tension wrench. Over time just through use, the focus tension will need to be adjusted. Place the wrench in the hole on the shaft in such a way that you push the end of the wrench away from you. Grip and hold the focus knob on the other side of the scope. Then turn the wrench to ...

Re: Tightening the focus knob

There should be a notch or hole on the shaft inside one of the focus knobs just before the shaft enters the side of the scope. The wrench fits into that notch or hole..Usually but not always you put the wrench in so you can push the wrench away from you. Hold the focus knob so it can not move when y...

Re: A new microscope - your help will be appreciated

If you purchase a standard compound microscope it will provide the following: 1. With a compound binocular or monocular scope a camera will photograph what you see. If you try this with a stereo scope you will get one image of two and the 3d will be gone. You will not be able to share what you see. ...

Re: My not-Nikon, not S mystery microscope

It is obvious as we go back in time concerning the development of the microscope that the growing pains were difficult and many times produced somewhat crude results, especially since only thirty years ago the metals used were thick and heavy, the light bulbs were incandescent and rather large, all ...

Hello from Oregon

Since my wife won't let me take over the living room I'm stuck in a Pretty small space of 10ft x 10ft. That means a lot of thinking about space saving is necessary since I buy new stuff all the time. I currently use four scopes and hardly a day goes by that I don't use them all. All of my scopes wer...

Re: 60x objective for swift sw380T

If the object is thick you will be unsatisfied at 60x. Before doing that, turn off the scope illuminator and light the specimen with light from above, even if all you have is a bright flashlight.

Re: New to the hobby but have experience with microscopy

I purchase my scopes from Amscope. Their scopes are good quality for reasonable prices but keep your questions on this forum. never call Amscope for customer aid. They sell microscopes and tons of accessories but all they do is go by SKU numbers. They know nothing at all about microscopes. if you wa...

Re: What can I actually expect to see?

You are entering into a world of wonder even if you have an elementary scope. The more expensive the microscope, the more user friendly it becomes but for basic beginning stuff, a microscope is a microscope and with care, patience ( hard to find these days ) , and a little ingenuity you can greatly ...

Re: What I can see.

I admit that when I started this hobby 40x was problematic for me too. i think it can be for everyone. To begin with, you need all the light you can get. Slowly closing the diaphragm to introduce contrast is key. It may also help to lower the condenser slowly, and refocus at each change. Don't forge...

Re: What strength microscope to see spirochetes, parasites, white blood cells, etc.

Good morning. Blood cells and bacteria are difficult to see well with a light microscope but it is possible. There are several ways to make this a little easier. Blood cells of lower animals like fish or frogs are larger than those in higher life forms and easier too see at lower magnification level...
