Re: BHB microscope condenser/head compatibility

Yes, I can put LB objectives on the BHB, I've put a 20X cheap DIN and all works, for the phase contrast basically I have to buy a phase condenser for BH-2 (it will fit in the BHB) and the objectives for that condenser, right? You EITHER buy a BH phase condenser (BH-PC) with SB Short Barrel phase ob...

Re: BHB microscope condenser/head compatibility

I haven't any phase objectives yet, so I'll buy the objectives good for the condenser that I'll get! Confirmed: the BH2 trino head will match the BHB. You can mount the BH2-PC Phase condenser at the BHB via the top ring (I have one mounted to a CH2 with condenser mount similar to the BHB). The BH2 ...

Re: Retrofit Oil immersion lens too long?

My expectation is the Kyowa microscope will have objectives with tube length 36.65 mm (based in the fact the older Kyowa models have a lot of similarity to the Olympus e-series). Measure the length of your 40* objective until the shoulder (so excluding the thread that fits the hole) most common vale...

If your CX31 has the UIS2 set of Optics (= default set) they are excellent quality.

Improving them will require multiple times the amount your paying for the scope.

Your CH2 objectives function best with a MATCHING Olympus CHK eyepiece (or NFK projection eyepiece (the abbreviation correction in objective and eyepiece “work together” to give a you a proper color and abbreviation corrected image. Re: BH2 Pricing

The Telan lens in each brand tube lens system is part of abbreviation correction. Each brand has it's own correction system, so when aiming for picture quality there is hardly any / limited compatibility between infinity systems. Olympus tube lenses are non-compensating, and most Chinese systems ar...

Hmm that seems like a p. competent microscope. The .95 splan apo is capable of finer detail; however, it is a bit tricky to use and in some circumstances will not work as well as the .65 na. Re: Leitz dialux illuminator mirror

I used to have 2 of those Dialux scopes: very nice craftmanship. The mirror issue is a common one. I'll give a try to finding a small (square?) mirror that fit the need and 3D print a new mount. A Square mirror will not do: you require an oval one: otherwise the part of your low power objectives (4*...

Re: How to get parfocality of an image from a camera with a microscope eyepiece? / Image quality in OBS

It should still be possible to achieve parfocality with the eyepiece raised…… Note that raising the eyepiece is going to have a detrimental effect on image quality, a fairly noticeable one with the nfks. Fair refrased: In short: parfocality COMBINED WITH OPTIMAL IMAGE requires the NFK eyepiece at t...

Re: How to get parfocality of an image from a camera with a microscope eyepiece? / Image quality in OBS

Depth of field is a serious issue: requiring an optimal set-up: starting with coverglasses 1.5 of exact 0.170 mm thickness (the expensive Zeiss CG come to mind here), pond samples require a VERY thin fluid layer (so no debris in your sample). Alternatively I often use 1.0 coverglasses to compensate ...
