Re: Water creature with eggs

Thank you all :) Manfred, you have a point. It is wild life! Still, learning Lightroom is the next thing I'll have to do. I am sure Lightroom has similar features as Elements.

Caterpillar, larva of butterfly

Caterpillar, Butterfly larva tissue section. Sort of boring subject, but I liked the colorful patterns. From prepared slide. 10x, Brightfield.

Water creature with eggs

Water creature with eggs (water flea?) from prepared slide. Dark Field, 10x. No stacking.
I struggled for an hour to clean up the background in Lightroom 5, but I gave up. I need more training...

Re: Diatom (another)

I like the last one, which almost look like a school book illustration. Looks like a painting almost. Nice effect. Is that achieved in the post processing or a "DIC effect"? I have not experienced such effect on my DIC setup (yet)

I wish I remembered. This slide was prepared 30 years ago when I had my first microscope. I have then had a 30 year break before I picked up this hobby again.

The last one is great! Somehow diatoms look nice on a black background!

Olympus UplanFl40x Phase, however, phase plate was not installed, so it is a regular bright field image.

Re: My setup

Thanks! Yes it is a great scope with almost endless options and configuration. My goal is to have it complete with all options listed in the brochure. I have collected parts for it for the last two years from all over the world. The confocal option might be out of range. I saw one on ebay, used, but...

Re: Diatoms

Thanks everyone. I will try to answer all questions. :) I have an Olympus BX51 with DIC and Phase. The camera is a Canon 6D (full frame). I have not yet published anything in the "My Microscope" section. I will do so shortly. I use Lightroom 5 for post processing, but I am still learning. Also Zeren...

Re: Diatoms

These are all I've got for now. Actually my first images taken with the scope. I will try some more diatoms with the 60X/100X oil to see if I can crank up the resolution a bit. It should be possible to squeeze out some more crispness and resolution than these show. Also, they show quite heavy chroma...

I did not measure the size unfortunately, but I would guess 50-100 microns

Thank you Oliver! You may be right. However, I think the "organelles" is moving so fast, I assumed they were something else.

Help ID please

Any idea what kind of creature this is?
Magnification 1000x
Found in human saliva

It is the round organism in the middle that seems to bubble with internal bacterias.
