Think of it in terms of images on your computer. Lets say the 10x objective gives you a 100 x 100 pixel image. Using the 10x Eyepiece you see this image at its actual size. Using the 20x eyepiece, you stretch this image to 200 x 200 pixels - which will pixelate the image because the resolution doesn...

Great image and beautiful contrast. What made you choose BF over DIC though? DIC and blue background may give it even better contrast/texture. Zzzffnn, the BF gave the nice dark edges, which made the spines "pop" more - I think. I did take a series of DIC images - will stack them and put it up here...
