Re: Zeiss Epi filters
I have the section with the light, iris and slide-in filters. It's just off while I'm doing some maintenance. This is a Zeiss Photomicroscope. It's not currently operational, but getting closer every day. I found a Fl filter for it. There are a few others on EBay, but they want a fortune for them! I...

Re: Which AO microscope with
I bought a AO100 in 1987 and used it for 30 years. I just sold it last month. It was still working fine when I sold it. It used infinity optics.
I sold it to a co-worker for $150 and threw in a dark field condenser.

Re: Zeiss Pol
Probably 4x would be fine. I'm looking for a Zeiss black enamel POL to match these though. I don't have a 1x on any of my microscopes. I don't know if I've ever seen one. I could probably use one. Most things I want to look at are in the low magnification range. When I'm outdoors, I carry a 4x and a...

Here is my Zeiss Standard Pol.

Top shelf Microscopes
A few of the Zeiss collection. Just need to have more time with them! 3 Standards. Part of a Photomicroscope, and a stereomicroscope with a photo tube instead of a binocular.

Zeiss Epi filters
My microscope seems to be missing some critical parts to the filter block for the epi-illumination. The cap is here, but nothing inside. Seems like there should be a filter block with a dichroic mirror... I need to get one, but I'm not sure what this part looks like. I'm guessing it's just a single ...

Re: Flipping binocular head- Zeiss
Thanks. Indeed, it came off a Universal.
I see now that this has a "9902", and the same head on the smaller microscopes has a "9901". They seem to be preordained at the factory for their ultimate fate, as either for a Standard or a Universal.

Re: Flipping binocular head- Zeiss
OK, Thanks. Let me post two more photos to better illustrate my problem here. No matter which way I turn the assembly, the "V" of the binocular is facing down instead of up. The binocular needs to spin on the little angled connector (sorry I don't know the name of this piece).

Flipping binocular head- Zeiss
OK, I moved the binocular head from one microscope to another. Now it's upside down. I known I have seen this exact head mounted facing the other way- so there should be a way to spin it on its axis. Has anyone ever done this before? I tried loosening the three tiny screws- nothing loosened up... Co...

Another Zeiss Question
I am missing the bolt that holds in the binocular head dovetail on the Zeiss Universal... Actually, It seems to be an assembly of bolts, springs and plungers that fits into a threaded hole. Are these still available, or are there alternatives? Is this a standard metric thread size, so that maybe som...

Very nice. I'm glad to see they are still available. I'll be happy once I get this all put together.
Thanks!

Re: Zeiss Universal help
OK, now I know what to look for. One more question: Do the turrets always have RMS threads, or do they vary depending on the application? Or do they all have M24 threads?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!

Re: Zeiss Universal help
Thank you! very helpful. The low-resolution photos in the manuals combined with the less-than-optimal photos on ebay sometimes make it hard to decide what part I need, especially when I've never seen one in real life. I've ended up with a few parts of unknown function that don't seem to fit anything...

Zeiss Universal help
IMG_0073.JPG Ok, I have a Zeiss Universal, but missing some necessary parts. I need a way to connect an objective to the dovetail on the bottom of the beam splitter. Is there just one part I need to connect it all together, or are there several? At this point, either a single objective, or a whole ...

Re: Zeiss Epiplan HD
My Epiplan objective just has a stock number on it. It fits the M24 size turret and seems to work just fine. Thanks for the help. That's good news. I just received a second one in the mail today, 40x, so I'm glad I can use them. I still need a low power... It also came with an adapter for M24 to som...

Re: Zeiss Epiplan HD
Thanks. Yes, I looked through the Zeiss Brochure. They are on Page 60. It's just not clear. They only show one side of the objectives on the brochure photo, so can't see if there is a "160" engraved on the back. Maybe someone else sees something there that I'm missing. The problem is: some have "160...

Zeiss Epiplan HD
I'm trying to get my epi-illumination set up on my Zeiss Standard. So far I have just one objective, a 16x, but I would like to get some more. I see many Epiplan HD for sale, but they don't have "160/-" engraved on them, neither do they have "infinity". How do I know if these will work in my 160mm m...

Re: New to forum. Drawing tube
Thanks. I have four different microscopes on the bench in my lab at the University. I've been trying to re-create a home version, but I got carried away and ended up with a few extra microscopes. We are 100% Leica at work, and I'm 100% Zeiss at home. Texas A&M sells their surplus equipment through L...

New to forum. Drawing tube
Hello Everyone. New to the forum. Looking forward to it. I use Leica Microscopes at work (and I like them fine). I am at the Dallas campus of Texas A&M University. My home microscopes consist of 5 various Zeiss Standards configured in various ways. I also have one Zeiss inverted microscope, and a Me...
