Algaes.

By recommendation of Hobbyst46...sr, I couldn't see them with epifluorescence...so I will still be able to show them in Bright field.

Re: Introducción to a Laborlux D epifluorescencia.

The I2/3 is for blue light excitation in a band of 450 - 490 nm. Very good for specific fluorescence stains but somewhat limited on chlorophyl auto-fluorescence. A blue LED in the 460 - 470 nm range would be best for this filter cube. Buy some acridine orange. It is the perfect stain for this filte...

Re: Introducción to a Laborlux D epifluorescencia.

The 2.5/0.08 is a central part of your problem. This objective is totally useless for fluorescence. Use your Fluotars. They are much better suited to the job. What filter cubes do you have and which one did you use? btw: Nice microscope! This thing will give you a lot of pleasure and reward. Thank ...

Re: Introducción to a Laborlux D epifluorescencia.

Incidentally : Do the posted photos show that the light from the 100W LED comes from below the light port below the condenser ? if so, the setup is not epi-fluorescence but trans-illumination. If so, the chance of seeing any FL in the shown setup is zero, whatever the objective in use, whatever the...

Introducción to a Laborlux D epifluorescencia.

Kind regards to all. As we all know in this beautiful world of microscopes, our mind is always searching for better optical quality and this keeps us in the search and expectation of finding and obtaining better optics. Now in this search, I managed to buy two nice microscopes a laborlux S and a lab...

Thank you gentlemen for your excellent contributions and different solid points of view. I will not use any solvent for the moment I will try to remove the leftovers with a scalpel and possibly put them in some solvent to see what the results are. Re: Leítz 25x EF. Possibly re-cemented.

The front element is sealed into it's mount or bezel, often by furling an interior section of it over the extreme edge of the front element's rear hemisphere. The amount of metal is very thin and undue pressure on the front lens can push it through the furled ring. Cementing the lens with epoxy is ...

this also happens when the careless microtomist crashes a lens into a newly made slide with uncured mountant
It can certainly be a good possibility

Leítz 25x EF. Possibly re-cemented.

Cordial greetings . I just purchased this leitz 25 x EF, it's giving a clear and contrasted images, I was cleaning it and noticed that it has some leftover glue like possibly Canada balsam by the color on the front element. But I wonder if it is possibly it has been recementing the front element or ...

Re: Npl fluotar 40L 0.60

Use a measured slide as a coverslip. There are also thick coverslips used for haemocytometers , usually .4 but I think there are thicker ones as well. Ah okay ,now I understand ,I have to make a sandwich with two slides , one below and one above, measured from 0.6 onwards. Great solution and very s...

Exactly!...they do not contain any other kind of description... Now the possibility is that they are metallurgical objective.
It will be somewhat useful in observing marine samples?.

My guess is it means they're suitable for polarized light work, ie strain free.
They don't look very high quality at all, but I still bought 4 at $10 each...just for the thrill and fun of them being able to give an acceptable image...like rolling the dice.
Thanks for your always kind replies.
