Thanks :) I'm looking for at least "some" physical relief, the so called poor's man DIC. I'm starting on microscope imaging and the Koehler brightfield yields quite "flat" imaging. ...My guess is that you are looking for maximum physical relief? Such an effect requires a high degree of precision. It doesn't necessarily happen at Koehler and only a smàll + or- in the location or orientation of the components can make the difference between hey, that's o.k. and wow, that's grea...

... I have always read these modifiers ought to sit near the diapragm, but in this contraption they are much lower. Isn't the position perhaps that important? ... On my 0.90 achromat the diaphragm resides c. 30mm above the bottom plate. Nikon Achr 0.90 is not the best candidate to use with DF inser...

Beta version is coming - light from both sides (separate dimmers) & sample can be rotated.

I liked the result, next step is to place more LEDs around the perimeter, in order to have more light control. Anybody tried this type of illumination already ?
