Pesky buggers those Coleps are! I once observed (and filmed actually) a couple of Coleps individuals sucking out the contents of what I believe was a rotifer egg.

How did you actually find it? I don't think I've ever seen Amoeba proteus in the wild.

I suppose one could pop into an ophthalmologist and ask but I would not be surprised to get a blank look from them. So where is this cotton? Ask in the pharmacy I supp...

Yes, silica particles. Use ophthalmological-grade cotton and bamboo sticks.

Probably the best scope Zeiss ever made and you can upgrade with whatever you wish, planapochromats with DIC and so on.
