Re: 2Watt Capsule LED bulb W/G4 base Finally arrived

I tried doing something similar with a 6w version on the Labomed LB-592. I removed the halogen bulb and replaced it with the 6w LED. Two major problems. 1 - The LED lamp is round and only 1/3 of the LED's faced the condensing lens. 2 - 1/3 of the LED's do not emit enough light to do anything practic...

Re: A few questions about my new microscope

TNK: You have a nice scope. It looks as though there is a partial photo port on top. To mount your Canon camera on your microscope you may need a phototube for the microscope. If you can find a photo tube with a 25mm inside diameter, the most economical solution is the camera adapter with a built in...

Or you can use a free software package with your calibration slide. The package is DigCam from Science 4 All It is simple to calibrate and use. Basically, you measure your calibration slide once for each objective. Then take your microscope photo and drag a line across the object to be measure. The ...

mrsonchus:

To accurately print what you see on the screen within the limits of your printer, calibrate your monitor with a hardware device like the Datacolor Spyder or the Xrite Colormunki.
Set your printer's colour management to sRGB and use a quality photo paper.

The above give satisfying results.

Re: What to buy? 'Realux' or Indian eBay mic?

SteveSteve I do not recommend buying from India if your shipping address is outside the Indian sub-continent. The quality of Indian microscopes is quite good, but the shipping containers are totally inadequate. I purchased a polarizing microscope from India via eBay. When the microscope arrived it w...

I used both high power LED (20W) and 100w halogen lighting and do not use filters on either light source. My camera capture programme does all the colour balancing. I may be the exception, but I do not use the eyepieces on the microscopes. All viewing is done on the calibrated display through the Ca...

Re: Image quality of AmScope microscope via the trinocular tube

I cannot disagree with apochronaut on the historical use of the field aperture to achieve even illumination. The field aperture, if present, plays a large role in contrast and resolution with low power objectives. The proper use of the field aperture with low power obj. is to stop down the condenser...

For what it is worth, the difference I can see is also seen and printed by my HP DJ 130PS printer. P.S. In the colour world ICC profiles are not a minefield, but a godsend to consistent colour. As stated earlier, my monitors are calibrated to the AdobeRGB colour space and my printer and papers are p...

The effect almost looks like it is beating with sub harmonic of the Canon camera's frame rate. I do not know if non-Canon cameras have the same issues with high po...
